Loud N Nasty
Released: 2004, Perris Records
Reviewer: Celtic Bob
Hailing from Sweden this 3 piece are here to keep sleazy metal alive. This is their 2nd release and shows that they mean business and are here to stay. They were formed in the late 90’s by Rob Nasty whilst working on a project call “Sin on Skin”.
On this release Rob and company just let loose with pure attitude filled metal. This is good time RnR the way it’s meant to be. All the typical cliché’s are there; Sex, Booze and Rock n Roll. What more can you want?
The songs are relatively short in length but are quite enjoyable. Chris Loud’s guitar got that 80’s style crunch and distortion to it that was popular on a good portion of the albums back in the day. Songs such as “Play Dirty” and “Teaser” are total kickbacks to the sound of days gone by without sounding old and dated. They just add a slight hint of modernization to it. They got the whole LA Glam/ Sleaze thing down perfectly complete with a great Power Ballad (Anime) which puts you in mind of something Winger might do.
If you are looking for 80’s styled RnR then this is a good place to start. Definitely worth a listen.
