The sixth full length album from Sweden's Lion's Share rekindles my old love affair with Power Metal. In fact it's some of the best new Euro Power Metal I've heard in some time. Founding member Lars Chriss has taken this band from the cookie cutter Metal they played in the 90's to new depths.

For one, there's riffs galore, chunky and thick, ripping through the entire album. The guitars are awesome, however the vocal is quite strange, almost Grave Diggerish but a bit cleaner. I've found the vocal to grow on me, so it may for you as well. It's sort of Dio influenced, or at least Patrik Johanson has Dio's tone. Regardless, from the single and opener 'Judas Must Die', Lion's Share glide through eleven really good tunes, no filler here folks.

The other thing I like about these guys is their ability to not sound so damn happy all the time like most Euro Power Metal. Lyrically, most of it's still a bit silly, but the shear force and fire of the music get you chanting the words. Songs like 'Phantom Rider' and 'Full Metal Jacket', with their heavy drum beats and fast riffs suck you in, challenging you not to bang your head. Bottom line, if you're a Power Metal guy, get this thing.
