Kiko Loureiro
Universo Inverso
August 2007
Released: 2007, Frontiers Records/Zink Music Rating: 1.0/5 Reviewer: Anders Sandvall Guitar player Kiko Loureiro normally in the Brazilian act Angra has now unleashed yet another instrumental album. If his last album was a mix of everything possible this one sticks only to jazz and latin fusion music. Loureiro’s brilliant guitar play can’t help the album from failing; the music is extremely boring in the long run and you get pretty tired of listening to it more than once, at least I was. There’s no doubt this man is skilled and amazing on guitar but it gets too much after 10 tracks of jazz/latino fusion for one solid hour. I have never been a fan of strictly instrumental album and believe this album hasn’t changed my mind. It’s sad that such a talented guitarist have snowed in on such a narrow genre as latino/jazz fusion and I can’t imagine that he’s going to win any fans with this album unfortunately. The big 10.000 dollar question is, to whom does this album appeal to? http://www.zinkmusic.com ![]()
