Heads Will Roll
October 2011
Released: 2011, Listenable Records
Rating: 4.0/5
Reviewer: UK Team

Katana are from Gothenburg, Sweden and class themselves as the next big thing in traditional heavy metal. They deliver a show that is 100 percent pure adrenaline and will take the audience straight back to the golden age of the early eighties. Since the current lineup was established in 2008, KATANA has worked hard to perfect their live act, which includes everything one would expect from a true eighties band, and then some.

Katana are heavily influenced by British and German bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Accept, this is apparent from the first track onwards. Every song is done in to back the old school NWOBH style and done very well. Catchy lyrics combined great vocal range and sound from Johan, along with rocking guitars & bass lines, toe taping drum beats combined together to make this a fun, solid rocking album. It’s a pleasurable aural journey for the listener.

This is the perfect 80’s album done in the 00’s great for rock parties and easy listening as well. All the songs are well written, fantastically produced to transport the listener back to the 80’s for some proper ‘balls to the wall’ style rock/metal when it was alive and kicking!
