The press release that accompanied this CD said “ Big Hair, Tight Pants, Ripped Shirts, Cowboy Boots...Fast Guitar Solo’s, Huge Chorus’...etc.” This opening statement couldn’t be more accurate in describing the sounds that were emitted from my stereo speakers. 1989 is back again, or did it ever end??



Julian Angel’s Beautiful Beast does indeed have 1989 written all over it in just about every way possible. With ADULT ORIENTED CANDY, Julian hits all the right aspects of an era gone by while throwing a bit of Melodic Hard Rock into the mix for that little added extra for mass appeal. The album is extremely catch while you are listening to it but unfortunately you don’t recall much of it after it is over, even after a few spins.



ADULT ORIENTED CANDY is one of the best albums from the late 80’s to come out in awhile (Steel Panther has that title wrapped up). This is not your Poison, Warrant...style Hair Metal. If you like 80’s Hair Metal then this album should be in your collection.
