OUT TO EVERY NATION is one astounding rock record. Basically a solo offering from the Masterplan vocalist, this album contains 10 tracks that explode out of the speakers with an energy that simply blows my mind. Rife with texture and emotion, Lande gives his all on each songs, delivering the goods with more drama and power than nearly any modern metal vocalist I can think of.
Granted, his lyrical choices may be a bit dodgy at times (“Rock Spirit”), and his vibe and persona may grate on the nerves as a bit cheesy at first, but once one let’s go of their inhibitions and opens themselves to the music, there’s just no going ignoring Lande‘s presence. The man’s bluesy, impassioned voice recalls legendary singers like Ronnie Dio, Glenn Hughes, and David Coverdale, and each song provides the perfect musical foil to bring out the best in Lande’s talents.
Ranging from mid tempo hard rock, to classic Heavy Metal bombast (opener “Young Forever”), OUT TO EVERY NATION captures every mood: from the aggressive, to the epic, to the darkness of a song like “Living With Wolves”.
Difficult to describe, but easy to enjoy, this effort by Jorn Lande is easily recommendable to any hard rock fan or open minded Power Metal supporter, and serves as one dark horse album that hopefully will not go unnoticed. Do yourself a favor and check this one out.
