Hell Bullet
Kill for Beer demo
April 2009
Released: 2008, Self-released
Rating: 3.5/5
Reviewer: Luxi Lahtinen

Attack! Well, this young looking Brazilian foursome under the Hell Bullet moniker - all the way from Marechal Cândido Rondon, Paraná, does its thrash attacking in a pretty effective way, counting on a very straightforward and aggressive approach that has undoubtedly sucked elements from both the Bay Area style as well as early Teutonic thrash. When listening to the band´s debut 4-track offering, KILL FOR BEER (ha-ha... Sounds like a cool title for a thrash band if you ask me), it´s such band names like early Destruction, early Kreator, early Exodus and such furious and energetic thrash troops that penetrate into my brain from somewhere and remind me of how damn good the whole eighties thrash metal scene used to be some 20-or-25-or-so years ago. And Hell Bullet is all about that musically gritty and sufficiently energetic to thrash the brains out from our skulls. They are definitely very good at what they do, capturing some of that magic that so many thrash bands had in them back in those days. Good and friendly violent fun, as it should be in the first place when it comes to playing old school thrash in general.

Hell Bullet is just one of those new Brazilian thrash bands that have made a strong invasion of the international thrash markets for that past 2-3 years or so that are worth checking out. They are probably not as technical, advanced sounding or nearly as known as let´s say, their country fellows Violator, but they do already have lots of attitude and determination to be something bigger some day - that goes without even saying it. The KILL FOR BEER demo is a promising start from them, and I honestly believe we´ll hear much from this Brazilian thrash act in the comimg months. You wanna bet for it with me? Ah, so I thought... ;o)
