Russian black metal band Hatestorm is back with a new recording, which they have baptized with the funny title FILTH PURITY. Expecting a dirty, raw and satanic black metal, right? Well, if that´s what you are expecting from them, that´s what you are - probably - about to get from them, too. Expecting this to be interesting and worth your time also? Well, it depends on you again, dear listener. If you are a fan of trOO, vnholy and kvlt black metal (thank Satan, this Russian foursome doesn´t use any war paint on their faces though), then this may also be it. Again, it also depends on you how you actually see them personally.
To me, they simply sounded dull and boring and that´s all, I´m afraid. Even watching tennis through an ancient 15" B&W Philips TV is more fun and entertaining to do than listening to Hatestorm´s FILTH PURITY. This record unfortunately hardly managed to raise one of my two eyebrows in excitement as there´s simply nothing (yep, nothing - zero, zip, zip-zero, f**k all!) on this record that could have screamed me to come back on this album some day again. The production sounds bad, the guys obviously cannot write a decent song, the drummer sounds like it's his first time behind his drum arsenal, the guitarist was born deaf and the vocalist has been sucking goat´s dick for way too long.
What I will probably never get, is why crappy albums like this are getting released these days? Who are those people to buy pure nonsense like this? 0.5 points for naming one of their songs as "Empty" because this is what this album is pretty much all about: Empty (of decent ideas).
Now preparing for waiting death threats from the band members next...
