I’m not 100% sure I will be able to do this release the justice it may deserve. Poland’s premier death metallars Hate have been numbing the senses of their fans and listeners with some of the most bombastic and brutal blackened death metal for more than 20 years.

Their latest release, TREMENDUM is a passion filled work of art according to founder and vocalist Sinner. I feel for ya. Every musician and or artist will say that about their work. It has been many years since I’ve listened to Hate. I thought when I saw the album in my list of picks; I was actually looking forward to it. But after several runs through the disc, I keep coming to the same conclusion with it. Blah! When I first heard Hate 10 or 12 years ago, it was a time when I was listening to a lot of extreme metal. I remember really enjoying them. And maybe it is now due to the fact that I have not eased myself back into the more extreme side of metal yet. As far as extreme metal goes, sure it is extreme.

I also remember them as having more of a death metal sound to them. TREMENDUM comes off on more of the black metal side of the road with ferocious blast beats and gut churning guitars. They just seem to be grinding away from start to finish.

Now, I really do not want to say anything on the negative side here about this release, and this is a shocker to me as wee, it did nothing for me. It actually bored me at times. Please do not write them off on my word, but not matter the style or genre, it should at least give you more than the eh? feeling TREMENDUM left me feeling.
