Infinite Regress
July 2015
Released: 2015, Self-Released
Rating: 2.0/5
Reviewer: UK Team

While I admire Gestalt for creating, producing and releasing their first release "Infinite Regress", and there's definitely room for potential in a lot of the sounds, I feel that this release could have perhaps been nurtured more, cultivated perhaps. The songs themselves are not bad per-say, but something just doesn't quite hit the mark for me with them, the drum programming is extremely harsh, the vocals are wretched and tortured, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of chemistry present as yet with this group.

And here in lies the catch 22 of self released music, it can stagnate and become "safe" if not worked with the correct people.

However I am curious as to what Gestalt will bring with their next release, as they are by no means amateur musicians or composers, it just feels like they need to flesh out and expand more as a band first before properly committing to recording again.
