Gun Barrel
Outlaw Invasion
August 2008
Released: 2008, Limb Music/Intromental Rating: 4.0/5 Reviewer: Anders Sandvall Gun Barrel’s hometown is Cologne in Germany and it was there the band was born in 1999. 2000 saw the release of their MCD BACK TO SUICIDE, after touring through Europe the band slowed down and started to work on their debut album. OUTLAW INVASION is the bands fourth album and with a new label they’re now ready to once again conquer Europe and the rest of the world. With guiding stars such as Motörhead, AC/DC, Rose Tattoo and Thin Lizzy; Gun Barrels contribution to the rock history is making albums with high voltage, dirty rock’n’roll. They aren’t creating anything new and even if we have heard this maybe both once or twice before, the bands music is quite charming and soulful and that makes up for the lack of originality. The bio pretty much sums up what Gun Barrel is all about in the five words “Beer, sweat and rock’n’roll forever”. OUTLAW INVASION sure invites the listener to a party. The 13 songs are all great and the lead singer does a great job of taking the songs to a higher level as the guitarist throws out dirty riffs like it’s no tomorrow. Killer tracks are a bunch of songs like “Turn to Black”, “Wanted Man”, “The Redeemer”, “Cheap, Wild and Nasty”, “Brother to Brother”, “Ghost Inside” and “Tomorrow Never Comes”. All of them except the two last ones are all party rock’n’roll hits that are perfect to kick off a party with. The last two songs are mid-tempo ballads where the lead singer shows a more sensitive side of himself and his voice. There’s nothing more to say about Gun Barrel’s fourth album than it is brilliant and fun. This is for every fan of dirty high voltage party rock’n’roll. The fans are not going to be disappointed with OUTLAW INVASION. http://www.myspace.com/yourgunbarrel http://www.intromental.com ![]()
