I am the first to admit that this album will not be to everyone’s taste. Starting back in 2005 and hailing from the Netherlands 'L'Arrivée De La Terne Mort Triomphante' is the fifth album release to date.
With 'Mories' being no stranger to creating music from the darker side of the Black, Doom Metal genre, with the album's concept focusing on death, showing the true darker, harsher and sinister side in his music. With no strong guitar riffs this album will only be appreciated to those truly into the Gothic, Dark Doom style of Black Metal. Having slow tempo’s, slow drums, deep black metal vocals and screaming, it does sound more like a horror themed theatrical soundtrack, which I truly adored! Showing great orchestral and ambient sounds, I found this album really calming and I’d love to listen to this in the pitch dark to get the full impact of this album. The intensity of this music cannot go unnoticed! I can understand why it will just sound like ‘noise’ to most people, who will not appreciate the darkness, lyrical content and atmosphere created, but I most certainly did!
With only 5 tracks to the album I thought it would be over too soon but with the songs lasting over 8minutes long each, it was easy to disappear into for the full 45minutes. I really did love this album and would recommend it to any black metaller with an appreciation of the truly dark, horror side of this genre.
