Released: 2006, MTM Music/Zink Music
Rating: 3.0/5

It seems like Faro revolves around lead vocalist Chitral Somapala (Avalon, Firewind), a lot has happened in the line up since the beginning and now features both Bonfire and Jaded Heart members in the band. ANGELOST is all about melodic hard rock with a focus on lead vocals and guitar.

The production is both airy, spacious, and yet heavy and ruff at the same time. The production by Markus Teske (Vanden Plas, Ian Parry’s Consortium Project, Symphony X etc.) is done very well indeed.

We find 11 tracks on this album and that also includes an intro as well as a cover of the Bruce Springsteen track “Dancing In The Dark” which makes you think because usually Mr. Springsteen is very restricted to whom he lends his material. All together ANGELOST feels like a solid album despite the ballads which are “Heavenly Light”, “Strange Dreams” and “The One” which could easily be excluded from the album. I do like what the band has done with cover song. I’m a huge fan of Bruce Springsteen and I think that Faro have actually done the song justice. It sticks to the original but Faro has added more guitars compared to the original.

The outcome of this album feels pretty positive I must say. It has all the ingredients that I think a melodic hard rock album ought to have with a complete musical background that frames the songs and lead vocals really well.

At the end of the day I found that my favorite tracks are “Desert Moon”, “World Of Fools”, “The Forbidden Land, “Damned Eternally” and “Where Did I Go”.
