Bad impression right off the bat, what with the mallcore influenced stage names and makeup – I definitely recommend a change there guys! Anyway, on to the music. The bio sez that their music takes influences from the likes of Overkill, Pantera, Alice Cooper, and KISS, but I don’t really hear too much from the latter pair in the music on this disc. What I hear it more of a mix between Pantera, Slipknot, and Godsmack with a little thrash thrown in for good measure.
The first song is “Hatred is the Sign” and it is the most obvious thrash influenced song. It’s not lightning fast or anything, but it’s easy to see where the riffs and drums got their inspiration. Vocalist Virus manages to stay away from any mallcore vocals on this one, making it a fairly decent song. Track two though (“Overdose”), is where the mallcore rears its ugly head. Down-tuned guitars and vaguely rapped vocals make me immediately tune out this one. This alternating song style pattern continues throughout the rest of the disc, although luckily the quality outweighs the crap.
