3-song Demo
August 1999
Released: 1999, Independent
Rating: 2.5/5
Reviewer: EvilG

The Forewarned demo represents the beginnings of what could be a great power metal band. As for now this band needs more work and unfortunately the demo suffers so-so sound quality. The vocals are mixed a too low. The vocalist has the range and the hints at some power but at places he sounds lazy opting to basically talk the lyrics (for example "True Believer"). If this guy put more power behind his deliverance and stopped talking the lyrics but sang them more like on the opening track "Heavy Machinery" then things would be much better. The lead guitar on "True Believer" was well played but it was so up in the mix that is made the band sound like they were off playing in the back yard somewhere while you were sitting in front of this guys amp. The third and final track "An Eternity To Endure" deceptively begins with what seems like a ballad but very soon picks up. The vocals are a lot better on this one although still too low in the mix.

With some work, honing of skill and a proper sound engineer Forewarned are a band we'll hear from again and next time I won't be surprised if they kick our ass!
