Doom metal? Stoner rock??? Death Rock??? Actually, Forsaken can fall into all these categories. I don't have much info on these guys really, except they're a 5 piece outfit from Malta steeped in the traditions of Black Sabbath, Candlemass, St. Vitus, get the idea. Opener "The Healer" is a throwback to latter Sabatth, while tracks "Moon Dancer" and "Slip Stream" sound a lot like St.Vitus. The key to this is vocalist Leo Stivala's ability to sound like Wino of St. Vitus one moment then Ozzy the next. Overall, the album calls to mind Black Sabbath's SABOTAGE, which is always good company to keep. Faves include "The Healer"," Sufferance" and the haunting "Winter Tears." Great production and artwork as well. You can find out about Forsaken at:
