Forgotten Tomb are a 4 piece black/doom/rock band hailing from Italy. 'And Don’t Deliver Us From Evil' is their 6th full length album to date after forming in 1999. This album is said to be the bands most personal one yet.
I’m ashamed to say that I hadn’t heard of this band or any of their music, but after listening to this album, they have very quickly become one of my new favourite bands! This album, from start to beginning, is everything that it says it is and more. Keeping a strong consistent sound throughout, the album is so easy to listen to over and over again! “Deprived” I believe, is to be the first single from it, and it is the best one on there. It’s a very good heavy, melodic opening to the album. The albums namesake also sounds like a bit of early Slipknot, but better. “Nullifying Tomorrow” is also a very melodic offering, popular with anyone who is into Cradle Of Filth. “Love Me Like You’d Love The Death” is full of dirty bass lines and solo bursts!
This album is loud, clear and heavy as shit in all of the right places. It has the right balance of melodic riffs to it that stop it being in the symphonic category, I only hope that they are as this good live as they are on disc, otherwise, I am going to be one sorely disappointed woman!
