You feel like your flesh needs to be shredded and punished a little bit? Then call in Fleshred, these relatively fresh newcomers and skullcrushers to the Finnish death metal scene.
This quintet features some known musicians from some other Finnish extreme metal acts (Gloomy Grim, Fierce, Ghoul Patrol, etc.), so we are not talking about a bunch of rookies here who just decided to try their wings on the current death metal bandwagon.
With these 3 songs the guys take command right from the very start. The band sounds musically being influenced by many legendary Swedish death metal acts from Entombed to Bloodbath – but also the American school of death metal (Cannibal Corpse, Monstrosity, etc.) is strongly present in their sound. Therefore the music comes across as a blended mixture of all these aforementioned acts, spiced with a modern and crystal-clear production.
Fleshred does not mimic any other bands directly, but one can tell right away that the influences are definitely right there - yet they aren´t doing anything that you could not have heard already. But still they are doing a darn fine job at what they do. I think they just work out a nice addition to this ever-growing pile of new death metal bands that are a pleasure to listen to, playing downright heavy, brutal and crisp old school flavored death metal the way it should be played in the first place. It´s catchy, it´s unyielding and it somehow has this strange tendency to make you turn the volume button a bit louder, which undoubtedly is a good sign that these fellows have done at least something right in their end.
Check them out if bands like Bloodbath, Cannibal Corpse, Entombed and the likes of, manage to squeeze the shit out of you. Good and recommended stuff here for brutal death metal fans around the globe.
