Flying the flag for Irish Thrash Metal since 2005 and no doubt hoping to follow ‘Gama Bomb’ in terms of success. The band is the brain child of Tom Morrison also known for his work with folk-metal band ‘Runecaster’. Their self produced debut album boasts 116 riffs and 27 guitar solos over 8 songs, and a guest appearance from Dave Briggs from Runecaster, well it looks good so lets hit play.

Clearly drawing on Megadeth and Iron Maiden as their main musical influence the Irish quartet do not fail to deliver. The opener “Terminal Aggression” sets the standard with speed followed by a punctuated “Duh-Duh” before returning that traditional power chord/riff and top end solo.

Track 2 does the same, is it 1983? If this was on good old vinyl in a plain sleeve you could play this alongside Kill ‘Em All or Diamond Head, but its 2009!

Each song captures that old sound perfectly.

“It’s Devil’s Night” has a catchy sing a long bit in it and is the stand out track but still in NWOBHM territory here though as is “Are You Ready To Rock?”

What really lets the whole thing down is the lyrics, you know the retro feel here is great musically it puts them alongside the likes of ‘Elimination’ or the reborn ‘Virus’ but were the lyrics written in a bedroom 30 years ago ? “Life Is an illness that takes you to death” or “Its time to thrust your cock” come on guys...please! Sure there is a place for dumb lyrics, think another Chapter 1 by Viking Skull for example, which is dumb by design.

I wanted much more from this than I got, hopefully chapter 2 will continue the music, because that part is well done, but the lyrics (Did I mention them yet?) oh dear.
