Excordium Mors
Serva Ad Mors
September 2007
Released: 2007, Stigmartyr Records
Rating: 3.5/5
Reviewer: Luxi Lahtinen

Exordium Mors, this ungodly Christ-slandering fivesome hailing from the hot´n hellish pits of New Zealand, is amongst us to re-crucify all weak Christian people as far as the band´s violent and wicked Black/Death approach on the band´s lenghty debut mini-CD (each song is between 5 to 7 minutes in length) is concerned at least. Exordium Mors rely on the victorious warpath that such hordes of hell as Impiety, Fallen Christ, Deströyer 666, Angel Corpse, Impaled Nazarene and the likes have all once traveled on - crushing all weak souls with their vicious attacks, like empowering the victory for other warlords of wickedness to come.

Exordium Mors have a good grip on things when it comes to making their music to sound catchy and interesting enough to win people´s attention to their side. The band serves their violent Black/Death Metal outburst straight, somewhat technical, fast as hell - not forgetting completely to spice up their songs with a mandatory amount of somewhat catchy harmonies and melodies either. Granted, they don´t offer anything new to the genre in terms of being innovative or original or anything, but damn they do sound entertaining, which is enough. The band´s vocalist under the name ´Scourge´ does his vomiting and ritual invocations well, sounding like a deranged monkey that is just experimenting in a series of tests in a laboratory, in the name of keeping humans on this planet ´til the final moment of Armageddon.

This is just good, friendly and violent fun, which should at least satisfy and appeal to the fans of Angel Corpse to Impaled Nazarene quite a lot, I guess. Just try this out. You may even like them the same way as I do - who knows.
