Enter VI
Dreams
October 2001
Released: 2000, Independent Rating: 3.5/5 Reviewer: Pete Unfortunately I'm not very familiar with Australia's metal scene, but Sydney's Enter VI are a band to watch for. This 4-piece, according to their bio, wanted to combine both industrial power and thrash with their own style. Their debut CD, DREAMS, 10 tracks in all, clocking in at 37 minutes, is a great throwback to 80's bay area thrash, yet sounding fresh by today's standards. Think early Testament, Prong, Kreator, Sacrifice, Exodus, etc. and you'll know what I'm talking about. Alex Vexler's vocals sound eerily like a young Chuck Billy, while the double kick work of Andrija Skocic is enough to exhaust even the seasoned listener. Bassist Roland Juhasz compliments the twin guitar attack, as the riffs just seem to slice through the speakers ever so nicely (thanks to Vexler and Daniel Shore). Standout tracks are "Passed Realised", "Day of Doom", "Onslaught Server" and my personal fave, "The Game." For a band that's only been around since 1998, ENTER VI certainly have a bright future ahead of them. Guaranteed to give you that old-school feel.
