Darkane
Insanity
May 2001
Released: 2001, Nuclear Blast / WAR Music Rating: 3.7/5 Reviewer: El Cid Well, I did pick up this one and I must say it’s been a strange ride. I still can’t completely grasp the fact that it’s not Rusted Angel Pt.2 like I expected (more like hoped). Insanity is a whole new road for the young masterminds that are Darkane. This new opus is a straightforward thrash album which excels in the genre, the riffs are very catchy and they will stay with you for a long time. The drumming is once again unbelievable, Peter Wildoer will make your head spin at times (Distress… WOW!) and as a whole, Darkane has proven once again that they are a force to be reckoned with. The only downside I see in this album is maybe the new vocalist Andreas Sydow, but this is only my humble opinion, so don’t let me turn you off from a fantastic album. If you are a thrash fan (Bobo) you should definitely give this one a listen.
