Live In London (Blu-Ray)
June 2014
Released: 2014, Eagle Rock Ent.
Rating: 4.5/5
Reviewer: Celtic Bob

Filmed at the infamous Hammersmith Apollo in London England back in 1993 on the STRANGE HIGHWAYS tour. This SD Blu-Ray captures Ronnie at the top of his game with a killer band backing him. This is the first time that this show has ever been released and for that reason alone makes it a must own for any Dio fan. They perform a good mix of both old and new tunes including old Sabbath and Rainbow material with a wealth from the newest album at the time.

Sound and picture quality is very good, even by today’s HD standards. Everything is well mixed with nothing sounding muddled or buried. As usual Ronnie sounds fantastic and never misses a note. His band are super tight and never miss as well. With the rhythm section of Jeff Pilson and Vinny Appice how could you go wrong? The big surprise here is guitarist Tracy G who I cannot recall hearing of before. This guy is amazing and fit in perfect. He had the right image and playing style for Dio. He is similar to a Vinnie Moore and the whole Shrapnel arsenal of guitarists which makes you wonder, Where is he now??

This is the best Dio concert I have ever watched. An almost perfect set-list performed on the last night of the European Tour with everyone performing at their best. An essential piece of Metal history.
