The Burning Halo
Released: 2006, Napalm Records/Sound Pollution
Reviewer: Anders Sandvall
Because of the large demand by fans, Swedish act Draconian have re-recorded their old demo and also made three new songs and two covers for THE BURNING HALO.
Draconian plays a mix of really slow doom and gothic metal; believe me, it goes really sloooow. Considering there are only 8 tracks on this album, it’s quite long - almost an hour. If it were a good album that would be great, but as it stands now you’ll want to end the pain as soon as possible. The two singers - one guy and one girl - do an OK job, as do the rest of the musicians, but the songs are so damned boring it should be illegal to write them.
Maybe this is appreciated by the band’s fans, but anyone else would consider it a waste of time to listen to this. Believe me; if you don’t buy or listen to this album, you won’t have missed a thing.
