Devil's Dice
March 2016
Released: Jan , n/a
Rating: 3.5/5
Reviewer: UK Team

Reading about this band it seems this album has been a labour of love for the members involved who have crafted an album of quality traditional heavy metal with hints of NWOBHM and latter day Thin Lizzy.

I was very surprised that the album is so melodic as I was expecting a more 80s Helloween speed metal sound but I hear more Scorpions and even Journey, and the latest album from Revolution Saints. In fact the more I listen to the album the more I hear sounds and guitar solos that would suit Scorpions Blackout and Love at First Sting Albums.

So if you love the more commercial side of Accept (Princess of the Night), Judas Priest (Turbo, Living After Midnight), Dio (Hungry for Heaven) you will love this album.

With positive lyrics it is even to fall into cliché and cheesiness, although you can get good cheese as well as bad cheese, but the album avoids this most of the time, even on a song called Destiny Calling.

I suppose a negative is the speed of the songs being of similar tempo without much change. A positive is you get a NWOBHM style album with much better production than the classics.

Catch them live in May as they have managed to procure a support slot on Fireforce's Birmingham show.
