Devin Townsend
Terria
December 2001
Released: 2001, InsideOut Music
Rating: 4.0/5
Reviewer: Mosquito

What do you say to a man who at age 19 hooked up with Steve Vai and has released great albums ever since? Well, I think Devin Townsend said to himself to release another great album. I actually picked up this album 2 days before writing this review. As soon as I popped it in, the album rocked from start to finish.

Look at the cover, the cover describes exactly how the music sounds. It has a very atmospheric sound to it. In fact, I'll go out on a really big limb here and say that this album is like a really heavy Enya (don't hurt me!). At least when it comes to the atmospheric elements of this cd. This album is still really heavy so there's no need to worry about that.

To give you an idea about how awesome this cd is. My friend walked into my room the other day as this was playing and only sat through the second track, "Mountains" and was sold. I can almost feel the mist, dirt, and grass while listening to this album. There's a cool breeze throughout my house and I can close my eyes, listen to the music, and see Terria. I wish I could give more details about this album but it's really hard to explain anything about it, other than the fact that you are listening to the Earth. Once you listen to it, I know you'll understand.

Devin has delivered a masterpiece album that everyone should own. This album is simply breathtaking and beautiful. If you're looking for something different than usual, this is the album to listen to. This one will be on my 2001 Top 20 list. I might even drop this in my Mother's stocking for Christmas (heh heh!). Enjoy the elements of Terria!
