Dexter Ward
Neon Lights
February 2012
Released: 2011, Iron On Iron Records Rating: 4.0/5 Reviewer: Metal-Rules.com UK Team Dexter Ward are a new Heavy Rock/Power Metal band from Greece which includes some of the ex-members from the Battleroar, taking their name from a character in a novel written by HP Lovecraft. After releasing their promo CD in 2010 they went on to record their first EP named "Antarctic Dreams", which was also released on Iron On Iron Records, after several shows in Greece they gained very good feedback and fan base. Soon after their drummer was replaced by Stelios and now they are now back with their first full length album "Neon Lights"; and wow what an album! I have to admit that power/melodic rock isn’t my favourite metal genre but it is hard not to love this band and I am quite shocked that there are no reviews or much promotion of this band online, because this band deserves it! I’m really happy I was sent this album as every song is great and catchy and has some great guitars. Showing some speed metal elements, their sound is unique and classic and is a must for metallers who love this genre. It’s great to hear bands like this, bands who keep to an original sound of the eighties era and are not influenced by today’s standard of metal. Fantastic album! Review by Jo Blackened ![]()
