Demolisher
PROMO 2008
September 2008
Released: 2008, Self-released
Rating: 3.5/5
Reviewer: Luxi Lahtinen

Can you resist the smell of death? Neither can I... So, let´s enter one furious and heavily armed death squad from Finland that commands the name Demolisher.

This deadly fivesome has made themselves known for their infamous, heavy and technical death metal for the last 3 years, and the band´s 3rd effort to knock you dead, is actually a quite successful attempt toward that particular purpose in question.

Even if there´s only two songs on this promotional CD, I think that just by the sheer "kill" power of these 2 tracks, our favorite Finnish death heads manage to demolish most of us in a positive way. The band´s technical, modern, nicely executed and heavy death metal is definitely fitted for reaching some pairs of ears, which they will obviously do with this strong quality of death metal. Demolisher still tend to sound like the American type of death metal, but there´s also a good mix of some other influences in their sound as well (Demigod´s ghost comes to lurk behind - especially in some eerie guitar leads and riffs in the 2nd track "Darkness Evolution").

Both songs, "Crucifix Head Crush (what a great title, by the way)" and "Darkness Evolution" represent some of the best death metal that are coming out from Finland nowadays. These songs are made to make Jesus to weep even more...
