Delphian
Unravel
July 2007
Released: 2007, Unravel
Rating: 0.5/5
Reviewer: Anders Sandvall

Delphian is a Dutch act that released their debut album ORACLE in 2005. The debut got raving reviews in the press but I can’t imagine that album sounded anything like this one because, if so, the reviewers must have been deaf. Delphian’s music is a strange blend of light progressive metal and epic progressive rock and believe me, the music sounds as strange as it is to read about it. And to make it even more dreadful they have included flute in many of the songs.

This is so bad that I literally want to rip of my ears when I hear it, it gives me a headache and after having listened to the entire album I got suicidal. The band’s main problem is the lead singer Aniek Janssen who can’t manage to make any note correct. The 8 songs are a pain to listen to and even if the material feels OK Janssen destroys what’s left of it.

The bio says that Delphian is huge in The Netherlands and if they are then please stay where you are. Delphian might as well be the worst thing I heard this year.
