Death Comes Pale
Through Carrion Eyes
February 2011
Released: 2009, Self Released Rating: 3.0/5 Reviewer: Aaron Yurkiewicz Death Comes Pale is an upstart Danish 5-piece currently peddling their 2009 demo EP, THROUGH CARRION EYES. A 4-track offering of mid-paced blackened death metal, the band’s debut is a promising offering that plays it safe but is ultimately satisfying. THROUGH CARRION EYES reminded me a lot of the bands like Morgoth and Cancer - Melodic where it needs to be, heavy through and through, but consistently in a lockstep pace that doesn’t deviate much through the EPs run time. The four tracks are relatively low on the frill factor, but the guys pack in plenty of sharp riffs and traditional death metal trappings to keep things interesting. The four songs are well structured and the recording itself sounds well produced. Clocking in at around the 20-minute mark, THROUGH CARRION EYES gets the point across without overstaying its welcome. Check out the band’s website for more information. ![]()
