Beautiful Creatures
Deuce
February 2006
Released: 2005, Spitfire Records
Rating: 4.5/5
Reviewer: Celtic Bob

Joe LeSte and company return with their second disc and their first for Spitfire Records. It too some time to get this album completed because LeSte didn’t want to have any throwaway songs on it. This persistence paid off well as this is one excellent hard rockin’ CD.

The first single “Anyone” opens up the album with it’s aggressive vocals and steady beat. The guitar is slightly distorted and similar in sound to late 80’s metal without sounding dated. There are many great hard rock tracks on this sophomore release. Some of the standouts include “Freedom”, “Save Me” , “Empty” and the ultra heavy “Straight To Hell”. Joe’s vocals on the album are great but he uses too much growl/effects at times. Musically there is no complaints: all instrmentation is mixed well and executed with precision.

The 4 year wait was worth it, Beautiful Creatures release a collection of songs more powerful than their first.
