Now, this is what I call Thrash!
From the moment the album opens with title track, “INRI”, Blood Feast hits you in the face with some down and dirty trashy Thrash Metal. It doesn’t let up from there either. Blood Feast’s first album in nearly 30 years is an ass kicker that shows that the group hasn’t lost a step along the way.
“The Future State of Wicked,” hits with brutal tracks one after another with “Off with their heads”, “Brethren”. and the wicked “By the slice,” smashing the senses with no time to breath in between.
Admittedly, I did not know much about the band prior to this review. I could have sworn this was a newer crossover Thrash band with all over the energy that explodes from this recording. Vocalist Chris Natalini, sounds better and more energetic than people half his age.
This album is a great listen for older Metalheads who want to travel back to Thrash’s 80’s Heyday and for younger fans who are getting into the genre from some of today’s impressive Thrashers (Municipal Waste, Holy Grail, etc.)
