Body Count
Murder 4 Hire
October 2006
Released: 2006, Escapi Music
Rating: 1.0/5
Reviewer: Anders Sandvall

Body Count is led by the legendary gangster rapping icon Ice T. He has now reformed the metal and hardcore gangster rap act, and it is just as corny as you would think it would be. Earlier this year they also released a live DVD, titled LIVE IN L.A., which was reviewed on metal-rules.com.

When the band’s debut album came out in the beginning of the 90’s, it actually sounded really good. The songs were full of energy and were extremely cocky and political, and Ice T sounded really passionate. Now that they’re about to release their second album, many things have changed. While the debut felt fresh, new, and a little dangerous, this sad release only feels like a big question mark. I can’t understand why anyone - even the fans - should want to buy this crap.

Ice T sounds like an old man trying to be young, and it’s just embarrasing. All of the 12 songs are pointless and have no edge whatsoever. The production sounds really low-budget, and is basically a big disaster with a capitol D. There’s nothing more to say about this, so let’s close this chapter of the old and tired metal-gangster-rap act that makes no sense. Maybe it’s time for Ice T to try on something else?
