Sermon ov Wrath
April 2017
Released: 2017, Metal Blade Records
Rating: 5.0/5
Reviewer: UK Team

Antropomorphia are back with more crushing “Romantic” Death Metal. Romance and Death Metal are an unlikely pairing but somehow these Dutch Metal Heads make it work, even if necrophilia is the group’s idea of “romance” (Being married for over 10 years, i sympathize). Their newest release, “Sermon ov Wrath” is a solid album with enough diversity to appease most hardcore fans.

The cover to this album pulled me in right away. I mean, topless ladies and gore? What is not to like? Popping the disc in, I was immediately hooked to the groove heavy title track. Antropomorphia keeps up the pace for the next two songs and then slows things down mid-album with a creepy atmospheric instrumental. Following this track is one of my favorite tracks included, “Crown ov the Dead”

Sermon ov Wrath is one of those rare gems that gets better with each listen. Antropomorphia crafts a sound here that is a blending of Black Metal, Entombed style Death n Roll and some good old fashioned Death Metal.
