Ancient VVisdom
A Godlike Inferno
January 2012
Released: n/a, Shinebox Recordings
Rating: 4.0/5
Reviewer: UK Team

Ok, I’m confused! These guys are singing to Satan in a soft dark, folklore manor?

After my initial shock and adjusting to this concept, I listened to the rest of the album and wow what an album!

Ok, lets start at the beginning… Ancient VVisdom [pronounced Wisdom] were formed in 2009 when former Integrity members Nathan and Michael joined up with bassist Justin ‘Ribs’ Mason [Iron Age] where the guys immediately began making darkened tracks using acoustic and electric guitars, synths sounds, harmonies and great percussion aswell as lyrics focusing on the occult, paganism and satanic philosophies, which captured the true depth of this album…the rest soon followed. The band recently issued a one sided split 12” LP with Charles Manson [I kid you not] at Austin’s The Bubble Studio’ and states this album is ‘A Dark, enlightening foresight into the future of humankind’.

This is definitely something I wasn’t expecting from their debut album, but it works perfectly.

I love the lyrics and the long guitar solo’s and impressive riffs, this band are clearly unique and just goes to show you don’t have to be in the ‘Black Metal’ category to show your appreciation for all thing Satanic.

Seriously…go check these guys out!
