And Hell Followed With
Released: 2010, Earache

This album is a great effort for And Hell Followed With. They have been heralded as “The Most Pissed off Live band” on their recent tours. For me there is a lot of quality in their musicianship. It’s like 'Cradle of Filth' and 'Suicide Silence' spawned a new evil. There’s a bit more 'Anthemia' in this band, which I prefer in my music, because with the majority of it I have to admit, I’ve heard it all before.
Other than that, the song quality is there. And that’s not a cynical remark, as I’m sure this band never had any intention of changing the world of music. But being honest and brutal is what these guys are doing. The drums are so tight I’m of two minds as to weather its all programmed or live, the production is very high. The twin guitar playing is great in the breakdowns, some very interesting interchanges and rhythms. There is also some great rhythm elsewhere and some great lead work towards to more anthemic vein of ethereal sounds.
As well as typical tremolo picked cadences, the playing is spot on. There is the evil and ethereal moments that really stick out for this band. The vocals are of a high calibre, born somewhere between Hell and pit of anger. Overall, I think that this is a good record and if you’re into the current crop of metal and hardcore brutality, then definitely grab a copy of this. It’s a great blend of Black and the new hardcore scene.
