Yeah, I know, we’re a little slow getting to this review seeing as this album came out back in January, but what the hell? Andromeda is yet another new inductee into the metal wars that’s flying the flag of prog-metal. The band is essentially the brain-child of guitar-wiz Johan Reinholdz and it shows when listening to the album. The guy is the star of the show, whipping out fret-board heroics that rival even the mighty (insert personal guitar hero here). He’s not alone though, as all of the other band members are equally adept at their instruments, especially vocalist Lawrence Mackrory. Yup, the guy from Darkane’s much celebrated RUSTED ANGEL. Not that he really got to show ‘em off in his previous band, but this guy has got one hell of a set of pipes! His voice is powerful and clear, adding great texture to the compositions. Sadly, he has since departed the band to concentrate on other projects. His replacement, David Fremberg has big shoes to fill.
