Alice Cooper
From The Inside (LP)
February 2014
Released: 2014, Music On Vinyl
Rating: 5.0/5
Reviewer: Celtic Bob

Alice’s 1978 overlooked classic; FROM THE INSIDE get’s reissued on 180g vinyl by Music On Vinyl out of the Netherlands. Being an Alice fan I always felt this album got overlooked by many and was one of my favorite tapes when I first started listening to The Coop back in the 80’s.

I was pleased to learn of this reissue seeing as I liked the album but never did replace my old, worn and long gone cassette. Putting the LP on my turntable and hearing the album again for the first time was a joyous experience. It sounded better than I remembered. On “How You Gonna See Me Now?” which is a beautiful power ballad before power ballads existed is hauntingly clear. You really hear the emotion and feeling in his voice. Even on the more humorous track “Wish I Was Born In Beverly Hills” Alice’s voice is perfectly crisp and clear in the mix. I cannot remember it sounding this good before.

The MoV pressing was flat, quiet and beautifully done. It is how an LP should be done. It sounds wonderful and care was done to reproduce the original LP artwork, complete with opening front doors. Highly recommended.
