Formed in 2003 by guitarists Marcel Contreras and Jason as Seasons Of Six, the band quickly grew to be one of the most popular London bands. After numerous line up changes they discovered bassist Nicky Velvet Cuts in 2006 and then recorded the EP HUNGER FOR YOURSELF. Cletus Van Damme joined later in 2007 and with the line up completed by Zack Cerro (Ex Bordel) in mid 2008. Of their many live performances throughout 2007/8, one put them on a world stage at Witchfest in South Africa supporting Carcass. In November 2008 the band parted ways with Jason and changed the name to Affluenza.
Kicking off with the title track your ears are treated to a highly professional mix of Black Sabbath guitar and basswork (think TECHNICAL ECSTASY period) and Crowbar agression with very good drumming and a vocal delivery equal to that of David Draiman trying out for Hatebreed!!
“The Scorched Earth Policy” has a real Thrash feel to it and could easily have come off a Megadeth album “You bring the rope and we’ll watch these bastards swing”, a line from said song that also goes to underline the band's disdain for society’s greed and politics.
Finally we end with the outstanding “Dead Days” held together with a riff that you will not be able to get out of your head and again there is a Sabbath quality about it.
This band is simply awesome, an album is due later this year..Buy It!
