Rocks Donington 2014 (Blu-Ray)
Released: 2015, Eagle Rock Ent.

Filmed last Summer at the infamous Donington Park, the bad boys of Boston headline Download Festival. This Blu-Ray really captures that essence of an Aerosmith show. The high energy of Tyler to Perry’s ultimate cool, it’s all there backed by the rhythm section of Hamilton, Whitford and Kramer.
As one who witnessed the Let Rock Rule tour of 2014 this release was much welcomed as it was a friendly reminder of the show I did witness, even with the differences. The setlist is decent mix of old and new, maybe a little too new depending when you became a fan or saw them live. Personally I love hearing new music by older bands but the classics are what made them. It is impossible to please everyone and this may come as close as possible. You get the early classics like “Sweet Emotion” and “Walk This Way” right up to modern day with “Freedom Fighter” all mixed in with “Jaded” and “Dude” before going back to the beginning with “Dream On” to close it out.
Beautifully filmed and really showcases their stunning light show. It is not washed out with whites and you really appreciate all the colors and visuals that enhance the performance and music. Isn’t that what a good portion of Rock n’ Roll is all about? Tyler is the quintessential performer and is regularly viewed hamming it up for the camera all the while sounding near perfect.
This is one that is a must own for all Aero-fans.
