20Ft. Wide
Demos
September 2000
Released: 2000, Independent
Rating: 4.0/5
Reviewer: Keith McDonald

It seems Long Island has been developing better and better bands lately. With the major label releases and success of bands like Wheatus and Nine Days, people are starting to take notice at it's original scene instead of the vast covers bands available. Now, I really wasn't expecting much here, but I have to say I was really surprised. Opening with "Mean To Me" the band sets in motion a package of radio-friendly songs with some much needed emotion and energy. "Don't Like You" is the most radio ready while "Angel", even though almost 7 minutes long, showcases Rich Orofino's soothing vocals while Rob Engel provides the tasty guitar, no overplaying. Devils's Radio is reminiscent of Def Leppard's earlier, better songwriting days with it's crunchy guitar and big harmonies...which has been missing from rock today. The rest of the disc continues it's assault on crappie music of today bringing back the old style of music...sex, drugs and rock n roll. Let's hope someone is smart enough to pick these guys up.
