1319 are new to the scene and information is lacking...however the music can then speak for itself. 1319 wants to play old school black metal like it was done in Norway in the 90´s. According to the press release they “don´t wanna fuck about”, surely that can´t be the reason why their short demo is titled “Dildo Crucifixion” or why they have decided to name their band 1319; which is only one number different from the colleagues in Norwegian black metallers 1349.
Based on the only 2 songs included on the demo 1319 really is old school black metal.
The recording sounds primitive and scraped for anything that could make it sound too polished.
There is a lot of character in the band´s demo, but to stand out and rise above average from the acts that has already sprung from the genre takes a bit more edge and originality.
The vocals are interesting, but not memorable or something not heard before. The drums have the characteristic sound as if they were recorded in a bucket and the riff blasts away.
Unfortunately the demo is just as quickly forgotten as the 2 song long demo takes to finish.
