BURN TO BLACK started back in 2002, releasing an EP on their own called Burn
To Black in 2004. Into Shadow, Microcosmic, Hellspell and Winter Rancid
skies all appeared in the movie "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey". When their
2006 release came out on Urgent Music, called Mach 666, they were already
playing with bands such as Sodom, Destruction, Municipal Waste, Into
Eternity and many more.

GOD FORBID Announce Release Date For Earthsblood

The epic and grandiose musical landscape of the new GOD FORBID album proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that this group have paved a new path out from the stagnant metalcore scene and the future looks to be a very bright one. The stunning new effort, Earthsblood, blends together the perfect amount of brutality, melodies and utter catchiness against a wall of sonic excess and pummeling groove-laden riffs.
Frontman Byron Davis steps up his game to new heights and delivers his most aggressive and angst-ridden performance yet, while the dynamic guitar tandem composed of Dallas and Doc Coyle shred with precision and tenacity to deliver captivating harmonies that scream to the heavens. Earthsblood was produced by Eric Rachel (Atreyu) with Christian Olde Wolbers (Fear Factory, Threat Signal) handling all vocal production and Jens Bogren (Opeth) on mixing duties. This is an entirely new GOD FORBID that have matured beyond their years and are now more focused than ever before. The depth and diversity showcased on this new album is easily going to position them as of one the most innovative bands within the genre.

Australia's THE AMENTA continue to push extreme music boundaries with "nOn," the second album from the noise/experimental/industrial outfit due in stores February 10th, 2009 via LISTENABLE RECORDS in North America.
"nOn", the much-anticipated follow-up to the debut "Occasus", finds THE AMENTA redefining extreme music. Rather than relying on the clichéd sound and style in which other bands are content to wallow, THE AMENTA has constructed an album built on new ideas, concepts, sounds and techniques. "n0n" is the fusion of shards of dissonant guitars, and dense layers of radio chatter. Lyrically, “n0n”: is a newscast, showing you the shit around you. Suicide bombers and evangelists; freeways and dead ends. “n0n” stands as an indictment on today’s media and technology addicted society.
With each song featuring over 100 actual recorded tracks, the band's new album pushes technology to its absolute limits. The recording of the album spanned three different countries and seven different studios. "n0n" contains a myriad of different contributors and performers with no less than two drummers, six vocalists and two bass players recording on the album which features guest appearances from Jason Mendonca ( Akercocke ), Alice Daquet ( Sir Alice ), Alex Pope ( Ruins ) and more. Formed as a reaction against the retrogression of the music climate, THE AMENTA has breathed new life into ‘extreme metal.’ The Australian quintet’s critically acclaimed sophomore album, n0n - which mixes intricate guitar riffs, gut-wrenchingly scathing vocals, and avant-garde ambiance - has made a huge impact in Europe, receiving raving reviews in Metal Hammer, Kerrang!, and Rock Sound magazines. n0n is the soundtrack to a modern age.
Formed in 2000 by guitarist Erik Miehs and sampler Timothy Pope, THE AMENTA quickly came to embody a new movement in both the worldwide, and local extreme metal scenes. Fusing industrial noisescapes, brutal distortion, and mind numbingly complex riffs, THE AMENTA defined its distinctiveness early in its career. The band recorded and released the Mictlan MCD in 2002. Four tracks depicting mourning and intellectual decay set to unsettling industrial ambiance: Mictlan set the standard for THE AMENTA’s future releases. In addition to excellent reviews and significant praise across the globe, the MCD also gained the attention of France’s Listenable Records; in turn, setting the stage for the evolution of THE AMENTA from a local band to a group of professional artists.
Listenable Records released Occasus, the band’s 2004 full-length debut, worldwide. The album was recorded and mixed by Lachlan Mitchell and THE AMENTA at Room of Doom Studios, Que Studios, and BJB Studios in Sydney and mastered at Studio 301 by Steve Smart. The ten-track epic, which touches on themes of revolt against tradition; human stagnancy; slave society fostered by religion and socio-political dogma; consists of masterful riffing and melancholy ambiance. Occasus was received by the media with raving reviews, and by the end of 2004, THE AMENTA tied for second place in Terrorizer Magazines’ ‘Best New Band” category, and won “Best New Band” from Australian Kerrang!. Between the release of Ocassus and 2006, THE AMENTA toured Australia three times: opening for Alchemist, Behemoth, and as a headliner. In 2005, ‘Mictlan’ was released on limited 7” vinyl, and Ocassus was re-released as a limited edition with a bonus “Virus” DVD/EP in 2007.
THE AMENTA returned to the studio in late 2007 to record their sophomore effort n0n. In October 2007 THE AMENTA toured Australia with The Berzerker. Due to overwhelming success and demand, the two will once again tour Australia and New Zealand in January 2008. n0n was released in Europe on 20 October via Listenable Records, and will be released in North America on 10 February 2009. THE AMENTA will hit European shores for the first time, supporting DEICIDE and VADER on the Winter Fest 2009 tour. This tour will be followed by an extensive tour of Australia and New Zealand with THE BERZERKER. THE AMENTA will deliver unrelenting brutality on a massive scale to dissidents worldwide, while redefining death metal.

EVILE LEAD GUITARIST OL DRAKE FRACTURES JAW, BAND LEAVE TOUR

OL DRAKE, lead guitarist of UK thrashers EVILE fractured his jaw last night after the band's show in Rotterdam, Netherlands supporting SATYRICON.
EVILE frontman MATT DRAKE comments:
"Ol collapsed last night and fractured his jaw and split his chin on the ground. Luckily his beard absorbed some of the blow. He's been in hospital and had X-rays and been stitched up, but he's unable to play - he can't really move - he's a mess. Ol doesn't drink, it seems to be some medical problem that's being investigated. They did an ECG and we're awaiting results. Unfortunately we're having to pull out of the tour to get home to the UK where Ol can recuperate and have some follow-up tests.
"We apologise to all our fans and to anyone planning to see us at the shows. As you can imagine we're devastated we can't play, but Ol's health comes first and that's currently our priority. We will update our fans through the MySpace with news when we're back home. We won't be on any of the Satyricon tour from today."

Daylight Dies to join Soilwork for shows in early January

Daylight Dies will join Soilwork and Darkane for the start of their upcoming US tour beginning January 30 in Rochester, New York. Continuing to support their latest record, Lost to the Living, Daylight Dies were selected to replace Warbringer who are unable to start the tour due to extended recording obligations. "We are all ecstatic about the opportunity to tour with three bands we are huge fans of," says bassist Egan O’Rourke. "We have been cranking Soilwork in the van since our first tour so it will be a true honor to get to share stages with them."
Released June 24, Lost to the Living is the North Carolina-based band's second album for Candlelight Records. Mixed by Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia) and featuring artwork from Travis Smith (Amon Amarth, Paradise Lost), the album features nine new songs. "We were extremely pleased to see the glowing response to Lost to the Living from the media," notes drummer Jesse Haff. "It's especially rewarding to see the continued love from fans towards this album."
Formed in 1996, Daylight Dies released their debut, No Reply (Relapse) in 2002. Terrorizer Magazine called the album "memorable and engaging." Outburn Magazine proclaimed it "pristine doom metal," while Digital Metal found it to be "a combination of dark melody and deathly aggression." The quintet would tour Europe with Katatonia and perform with Lacuna Coil throughout the US and Canada before writing processes would begin on new material. Their second album, the impressive Dismantling Devotion, was released in March of 2006. Revolver Magazine called it "an epic slab of gloom metal that's equal parts apocalyptic rage and suicidal sorrow." Terrorizer Magazine again applauded the band noting the album as "an epic journey as thoughtful and compellingly musical as it is bleak and vengeful... essential." Another US tour, this time with Moonspell and friends Katatonia, completed 2006 on an all-time high. Outside of a few local performances the five-piece spent much of 2007 crafting the material that finds itself on Lost for the Living. The band toured with Candlemass just prior to the release of Lost for the Living.
Daylight Dies, featuring vocalist Nathan Ellis, guitarist Barre Gambling, guitarist Charley Shackelford, with O’Rourke and Haff, have consistently impressed fans and critics alike. Not only popular with mainstream print outlets worldwide (Lost to the Living again receiving high praise from the most important metal publications around the globe), the band have found an active online support network. Popular metal portal Metalsucks.net says, "with Lost to the Living we get what could very well become the band’s masterwork." Hardcore Sounds says, "Daylight Dies has created a solid piece of metal that is unbelievably solid from start to finish." WE WERE GENTLEMEN Sign Worldwide Deal With Century Media

Rarely does an unsigned band create as much noise as Virginia Beach’s WE WERE GENTLEMEN. The band, which formed in 2005, has quickly ascended to the top of the underground due to playing alongside such heavyweights as Converge, A Life Once Lost, The Red Chord and Suicide Silence. Now they are ready to make their name known to the world and Century Media Records is extremely excited to announce the signing of WE WERE GENTLEMEN to the label’s worldwide roster.
When WE WERE GENTLEMEN decided to take the band to the next level, co-founders Kalan Blehm and Richard Nuepert went out and financed a van and trailer and began booking tours up and down the east coast with bands such as My Bitter End (Uprising Records), Cassius (Lifeforce Records), and ABACABB (Summerian Records). Since this time, the band has exploded in popularity, having amassed over 45,000 friends and 500,000 plays on MySpace.
All of this buzz lead to Century Media Records taking notice and partnering with the band. Now, WE WERE GENTLEMEN is preparing to enter Planet Red Studios in Richmond, VA on November 16th to begin recording their Century Media debut. The album, entitled Living Hell, will be recorded by the acclaimed Andreas Magnusson (The Black Dahlia Murder, Haste The Day) and is tentatively scheduled for a Spring 2009 release.

ENSLAVED SHOOTS VIDEO WITH AWARD WINNING DIRECTOR

Norway’s ENSLAVED recently traveled to Gothenburg, Sweden to work with Revolver Film Company director and Norwegian Grammy Award winner Patric Ullaeus (Dimmu Borgir, Keep Of Kalessin, In Flames) to shoot a video for “The Watcher,” a track off their recently Billboard-charting album, Vertebrae.
ENSLAVED share their thoughts about working with Ullaeus and the video itself:
“When we got the chance to work with Patric and Revolver, we grasped it with all ten hands. His works are very impressive. We were first exposed to him through Dimmu’s latest video - the whole thing was very professional and remained ‘tasty’ within the fantasy framework. Our previous videos have been do-it-yourself and we have never worked with special effects on such a high level before. The video is built upon a dual development: the band performing the song in parallel with a story line. The story is based upon [lead singer/bassist] Grutle’s lyrics for ‘The Watcher’ and the story is written out in a co-operation between Grutle & [guitarist/songwriter] Ivar [Bjørnson] from the band, and director Patric Ullaeus. Without spoiling the surprise, the video story follows the lines of the lyrics – the individual’s struggle for truth and liberation, about revealing the real chains of existence and breaking them.”

UNEARTH Announces First Batch of 2009 Tour Dates

On January 9, 2009 UNEARTH will launch a North American headlining tour. Wasting no time starting the New Year right, the band will bring its explosive live show to 19 cities over the course of the scheduled three week trek. Dubbed, “F#%& School, F#%& Work, Let's Rage!”, the tour will feature support from Emmure, Impending Doom, and Born of Osiris.
On February 11, UNEARTH will join forces with peers Lamb of God and Dimmu Borgir for the “Defenders Of The Faith 2” UK tour. Tickets are on sale now for the Metal Hammer-sponsored expedition, which will touch down in London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester and Glasgow.
Upon the completion of the UK tour, UNEARTH will travel to Australia to perform as one of the featured acts of the 2009 Soundwave Festival. The festival, which originated in Perth, Western Australia and began traveling to other state capitals in 2007, features a hand-picked array of both International and Australian music acts, from various genres and will see UNEARTH perform alongside Nine Inch Nails, Alice in Chains, The Dillinger Escape Plan and more. Seattle’s BOOK OF BLACK EARTH are now at home after the band’s recent month-long trek throughout North America with Watain and Withered, and are proud to announce their involvement in the January / February 2009 Killing ‘Til Oblivion Tour with Cattle Decapitation, Psyopus, Book of Black Earth, and Gigan in support of the band’s second full-length and Prosthetic Records debut ‘Horoskopus.’ “We are honored to have the chance to brutalize the western and southern parts of the USA once again this time with our comrades Cattle Decap, Psyopus, and Gigan,” vocalist/guitarist TJ Cowgill says. “It is certain that we will cut a swath of destruction from the flimsy illusion of democracy while simultaneously shotgunning beers and being creepy. “As for the Watain and Withered tour, it was incredible!” he continues of the band’s recently-wrapped touring. “The chance for us to play with Watain for a month already was the best news I'd gotten in a while, only to become better as we got to hang out with them and really get to know them as people. Watching them perform is truly an inspiration for anyone who is into real black metal played with the raw energy, a spirit that is rarely ever seen. Withered were amazing and crushed the audience every night, and they were our instant friends, hanging out with them was awesome. Honestly it couldn't have been a better tour, the only problem was it was only a month long!”

Danish #1 rock band D-A-D releases "Monster Philosophy" in Germany, Austria and Switzerland via 3R Entertainment
3R is very proud to welcome Denmarks #1 rock band in their artist roster and announce the release date of their album "Monster Philosophy". The album will be in stores from November 21th on and contains one exclusive bonus track (House Of Fun).
That the band is still around in 2008 is a proof for their ongoing will to cross genre borders and present their own definition of what we call - to make it short and simple - rock. Now D-A-D are back with their 10th studio album "Monster Philosophy" on which the fourpiece collects 14 songs (including the bonus track House of Fun) between "straight forward rocker" ("Revolution", "Beautiful Together", "Nightmares In The Daytime") and "lean back material" ("I am the river", "Milk and Honey"). But it wouldn´t be a D-A-D record if there weren´t tunes that make the band that unique. "Nightstalker", "Money Always Takes The Place Of Life" or the title track "Monster Philosophy" are both never heard before and typical D-A-D songs. As usual, there is so much to discover in between, that it´s nearly impossible to sum the whole album up in one sentence. Anyway, we should give it a try:
"Monster Philosophy unites in 14 songs what D-A-D stood for over the last 25 years." Maybe that´s the way to speak about the album.

KEEL Reunites In 2009

2009 will mark iconic metal band KEEL’s 25th anniversary, and the passing of two decades since the original lineup played on stage together. Unlike most of their contemporaries, none of the members has ever performed as KEEL since 1989.
Ron Keel, guitarists Marc Ferrari & Bryan Jay, drummer Dwain Miller along with Geno Arce (Ron’s long-time bassist) are preparing to perform again for the first time in 20 years. “It would not have been right without these guys,” expresses Ron Keel. With the high volume of requests for the band to reunite, the members felt the time is right to deliver the show fans everywhere have been demanding: a KEEL reunion.
In 1985, “The Right To Rock” became the fastest-selling debut album in A&M Record’s history. Selling over 2 million albums the band was proclaimed the Best New Band by Metal Edge and Circus Magazines.
The title track was a hit on radio & MTV and remains a staple on VH1 Classic, in addition to the group’s subsequent hits “Tears Of Fire,” “Because The Night,” “Somebody’s Waiting,”and “Rock & Roll Outlaw.” They developed a reputation as one of the genre’s most entertaining live acts, opening for heavyweights like Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, and Van Halen amongst many others.
Plans are for KEEL to reunite at a select number of festivals and showcase dates in 2009 to perform all their hits and classic favorites in celebration of 25 years of rock n roll history. The KEEL “Debut Reunion Concert” will take place in Hollywood on Saturday, January 31st. "I am here in Atlanta, I drove up after my art show which went really really well for my first showing. I sold six pieces and I wish to thank those who purchased very much, including SKID ROW's Scotti Hill and I look forward to doing it again soon. So my drive up was only eight hours, and I got here last night around 8pm, hung with (Steve) Flynn (Atheist drummer) and talked till late in the evening, and also viewed this ultra rare footage of Atheist recording Piece of Time in 1988 - we stayed at a hotel in Tampa for a week, and were so excited to be recording our first record we were 19-20 years old and full of metal. Some really classic footage of the late great Roger Patterson (bass), that no one on this planet has seen, not Flynn, not any one from back in the day. This was sitting in my garage for the last six years after someone gave it to me while I was on tour with NEUROTICA in 2002 on the Ozzfest tour. A girl we used to know was in line and the signing booth and gave me these VCR tapes, and they are amazing, including roger tracking 'I Deny' and all of us at different points with this video camera was was actually a bit rare in 1988. This will most certainly be on our planned Double DVD for 2009.
Fucking 20 years ago this week we were recording literally an album that helped define our sound as a band. Roger's birthday is this week coming up, he would be turning 40 yrs old in a few days, and I think he would be so excited to see the passion we are pouring into making this new record. It is inspired by him, and I am certain he knows it. Tonight me and Flynn sat for four hours and worked out this unreal section of music, that honestly is just inspiring. We had such a great time working through these pieces of music that just appeared on our brains on this night. It is the 20th anniversary of our first record, and we have come full circle, and tonight we wrote together what will truly be an honest continuation of a journey we started 20 years ago, and never really got to finish....... we can hardly wait!!
Also caught a GNOSTIC practice as well today (Steve Flynn's newest band) and they were staggeringly tight!!!
Their record will be coming out in early 2009, produced by yours truly, and we plan on making that announcement soon. As some of you know Chris Baker (guitar) and Sonny Carson (guitar) from Gnostic played on all of the reunion touring we did in '06 and '07, and they will be joining us, along with Tony Choy (bass) on this new record. I also talked with Rand Burkey (guitar) and while he will not be able to do the touring with us. He will take part in upcoming writing sessions with me when I get back to Florida. We are going to put pieces of music together, and I will bring them up to Atlanta and see how it goes. As you all know he is a very unique player with a very specific style that we appreciate as much as you do, so the whole family is involved for this one ladies and gents. Gotta jet, but watch for updates this week, and once again thanks to you all for helping us make this happen. We will not let technical metal fans down....but more importantly, we won't let Roger down! It's going to be hauntingly, sick, and insane!!!"

Thyrfing - new album Hels Vite set to attack

Thyrfing has delivered its very own brew of metal music since 1995. In other news, the band has posted a recap of their recent U.S. tour. The posting reads: "Greetings once again everyone! We’ve now returned from our 3-week tour across the U.S. and are happily sleeping in our own beds each night! We last touched base with you from Payette, Idaho (population 7500) and since then we made our way through the Midwest, up to Michigan, down to Texas, and through the Southwest back home. We had some killer shows and some mediocre shows, but all things told we had a great time and rocked the house each night whether there were 100 people or 10. Standout shows of the second half of the tour include Champaign, Illinois (you folks are crazy, thanks for the great energy), South Bend, Indiana (this was a metal fest that included The Faceless, Abigail Williams, and Decrepit Birth), and Las Cruces, New Mexico (thanks to all the fans and bands, and no thanks to the owner that called the cops on us). We met tons of cool people along the way, many of whom were gracious enough to let us stay in their homes, use their showers, etc. We couldn’t have done this without you! Also, many of you helped us out by buying t-shirts, cds, and posters. Thanks for filling up our gas tank. We hope you like our stuff. Next up for us is the release of our debut album “Within One”, due out on Ibex Moon Records January 20th 2009. We’ll play some shows at that time to commemorate the release, and in the meantime we’re going to begin work on new material. Please keep checking up on us and keep in touch. We’ll be busy so there should be more than enough news to keep you entertained. Thanks again to everyone that had a positive impact on our tour. It means the world to us."

Los Angeles’ Dreaming Dead are a quickly rising force in extreme metal, garnering significant national and international attention over the short two years the band has been together. Fronted and founded by Elizabeth Schall, Dreaming Dead released their first recording in the summer of 2006: a four-song demo entitled "Through the Eyes of Insanity" under the previous band name of Manslaughter. The reviews for that release were stellar, leaving listeners aching for more of the blackened, death-thrash attack that they find to be reminiscent of Death, Slayer, Cryptopsy, and Opeth. "Impressive", "devastating", "technically precise", and "great debut" are not terms to be thrown around lightly. DC4 Enters Skull Seven

DC4 featuring Jeff Duncan (Armored Saint, Odin), Rowan Robertson (Dio), Shawn Duncan (Odin), and Matt Duncan, has entered Skull Seven Recording Studio with fame producers Bill Metoyer (W.A.S.P., Slayer, Lizzy Borden, Armored Saint) and Joey Vera (Armored Saint, Fates Warning) to record additional tracks for the upcoming official release of EXPLODE. The new tracks titled People and 25 to Life are being recorded and will be added along with a video and new artwork for an 'enhanced' CD package.

DEGRADEAD, our young Swedish masters of Melodic Death Metal, are busy recording their second album! The successor of the highly acclaimed debut album "Til Death Do Us Apart" will be recorded mainly at Peter Tägtgren's The Abyss Studio with producer Jonas Kjellgren (SCAR SYMMETRY). Mixing and mastering are scheduled for Dug Out Studios (IN FLAMES, ENGEL...)

"Greetings from Madrid.
So, we're some 15 shows to finishing the Unia World tour, I think at the end it will be around 150 shows in 27 countries during 20 months. We got to hear some of Tony's new songs a couple of days ago and they sounded fuckin' great. Can't wait to start rehearsing for the next album. Anyways, back to the tour.....we had a great show in Barcelona yesterday and today is bound to be crazy as well. Since the last off-day I've been mainly chilling and trying to cure the hangover from the first week on the road. Appareantly I can't party as much as I used to.... but I'll guess that's ok, and besides I've done my share of partying. In fact I've done a lot of people's share of partying.
Just finishing reading the heroin diaries by Nikki Sixx, a lot of really great stories in there. I even liked it more than the Dirt. Now I started on W.A.R. (a bio about Axl Rose) somehow I like to read these easier rock 'n' roll books while on tour. I also brought with me Hokkus Pokkus by Vonnegut and 3 or 4 Hunter S. Thompson books.....like always. Actually I think I get back to my book for a while, Vanishing Point is about to go on so that means our shows start in about 2 hours."

Nightwish Vocalist Leaves Stage In Tears

Nightwish vocalist Anette Olzon left the stage crying last night (Monday, November 10) while preforming "The Poet and the Pendulum" in Belo Horizone, Brazil. This happened about 6 songs into the set and cut short the bands performance.

White Zombie - The musical horror show that mixed dark pop culture with metallic hard rock has been resurrected on the 4-CD/1-DVD box set Let Sleeping Corpses Lie (Geffen/UMe), releasing November 25, 2008. The CDs bring together for the first time all 64 original studio recordings released by the band led by Rob Zombie during its 1985-1996 career. The DVD offers nine music videos, 10 live performances, and some hidden gems.

LAMB OF GOD'S "WRATH" SET FOR FEBRUARY 24, 2009

LAMB OF GOD will release their fifth studio album WRATH, on February 24th, 2009. The record will be released in North America by Epic and will be the first release with their new label Roadrunner outside of North America. WRATH is produced by Josh Wilbur and was recorded in studios in New York, Virginia, and New Hampshire.
LAMB OF GOD finished the touring cycle on the Grammy nominated album Sacrament at the end of 2007. The two-year trek was documented in the now certified Gold DVD Walk with Me in Hell and culminated with the band headlining arenas across the US last December.
The band has taken the entirety of 2008 off the road to focus on the writing process for WRATH.
“This album is going to surprise a lot of people,” comments drummer Chris Adler. “Typically bands that get to where we are in our career begin to slack off, smell the roses and regurgitate. We chose a different path. No one wants to hear another band member hyping a new record. WRATH needs no hype. We have topped ourselves and on February 24th you will feel it.”
As always, LAMB OF GOD will embark on an extensive tour that will cover the globe. As previously announced, the band will be supporting Metallica on the December leg of their tour. The first leg of the WRATH world tour will start in Finland on February 6th and will encompass dates in the UK, Australia, and Japan.

Queensryche Set To Unveil AMERICAN SOLDIER This Spring

Queensrÿche is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on their 12th studio album, AMERICAN SOLDIER. The concept album, due this spring from Rhino/Atco, finds the band once again tackling some heavy subject matter, this time focusing on telling the story of war from a firsthand perspective. Singer and chief songwriter Geoff Tate has spent the last few years conducting extensive interviews with veterans and has crafted their thoughts into this epic tale. AMERICAN SOLDIER examines American wars from World War II through Iraq from the viewpoint of those in the trenches and on the frontlines. Following the album’s release, Queensrÿche plan to present tracks from the album live on an extensive spring tour of the U.S., with international dates to follow later in 2009. The first date of the tour will be a hometown gig at Seattle’s Snoqualmie Casino on April 16.
“Queensrÿche has always had incredible support from members of the Armed Services,” says Tate. “It seems like after every show, I’d end up speaking with a fan that was or had been involved with the military. The more and more I began to hear their accounts and feelings, the more I really felt a conviction to tell their story. Over the last two years, I’ve conducted dozens of one-on-one interviews with veterans of many different American wars. I listened to their amazing and moving recounts and did my best to examine war through their eyes.”

Queensryche will help celebrate the music and legacy of Jimi Hendrix by performing on two select dates of this year's Experience Hendrix 2008 Tribute Tour to take place on Wednesday, November 5th at the INB Performing Arts Center in Spokane, Washington and Thursday, November 6th at The Paramount Theatre in the band's hometown of Seattle, Washington which, of course, was also the hometown of Jimi Hendrix. Both of these particular performances -- part of a nationwide 19 city tour that began on October 15th in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire -- will feature such other artists as Mitch Mitchell and Billy Cox of The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Doyle Bramhall II, Eric Gales, Buddy Guy, Robby Krieger, Jonny Lang, Chris Layton, Mato Nanji and Hubert Sumlin among others. Back in the mid-late ‘90s, when everyone was declaring that ‘metal was dead,’ guitarist Jon Schaffer and his band, ICED EARTH, refused to acknowledge the naysayers, and were one of the few metal bands of the era to proudly continue on their metal path. As a result, Iced Earth has built an enormous and dedicated following throughout the world, and this year, issued their tenth studio album overall, The Crucible of Man: Something Wicked Part II.
