Do you miss the feeling you had when you first heard “Number Of The Beast” or “British Steel”? The moment when you jumped on your bed and shredded your air guitar like a maniac? When you took your pen out of your school bag and drew your favourite band’s logo on your jeans jacket? When you stood in front of the mirror and banged your head until you tumbled down?
Well, a bunch of Swedish guys sure did, and not finding anything exciting with modern metal, decided to do something about it. WOLF began playing what some had been calling retro-metal and in doing so, proved everybody wrong about the term. Real Metal is not retro because it has always been there, sometimes deep in the underground, other times overhyped in the press. WOLF, like other bands, have kept the spirit of the early 80s alive, still sounding fresh today, mainly because it fucking kicks ass.
The day couldn’t have been any more miserable, freezing cold and raining, not to mention that it’s a Sunday night and transport was non-existent! But that was not going to dampen my mood, as I was on my way to a gig I had been waiting for, for a long time! I finally get to see Evile live!
EVILE have confirmed that Swedish heavy metallers WOLF will be joining the band as special guests for their recently-confirmed UK tour, which kicks off on October 18th in Glasgow.
EVILE will also be returning to Ireland and Northern Ireland on the trek, following two shows there with MACHINE HEAD earlier this week. Two shows have been added to the tour – Belfast on October 20th, and Dublin on October 21st.
EVILE guitarist OL DRAKE comments:
“We’re very pleased to announce the first band on our tour of the UK & IRE in October 2012 is the awesome WOLF. Evile and Wolf’s paths have crossed many times and it’s going to be great to follow the same path for these shows. They’re such a great band and they’re going to add so much energy and enjoyment to the gigs. They were kind enough to donate Wolf gear to the Mike Alexander raffle which we ran back in 2009 too. I can’t wait to get back out on the road for our UK & IRE fans and bring along the heavy metal thunder in the name of WOLF!
“We’ve just added a date in Belfast and a date in Dublin, so check the flyer and get your tickets early! I don’t want to hear about more kids in Evile shirts being turned away at the door from having no tickets! *Metal sad face*”

FIVE SERPENT’S TEETH is out now worldwide on CD and limited edition coloured vinyl, and is also available from the Earache Webstore in a range of exclusive “Serpent Cult” fan packs.
Sweden’s sons of steel WOLF have launched a brand-new track from their upcoming new album “Legions Of Bastards” online, the band states:
“Metal heads worldwide – enjoy the opening track of “Legions of Bastards”! The perfect track for beer drinking and head banging, although maybe not at the same time. Swedish metallers WOLF have issued the following update:
“This coming weekend will be the end of the recording session of the new WOLF album ‘Legions Of Bastards’. The final lead vocals will be immortalized by Niklas ‘Razorthroat’ Viper and that means we’re done recording.
“We’re VERY excited and fired up to unleash this new album upon the metal community. Preparations for the upcoming [European] tour with ACCEPT and rehearsals are next on the roster so all of us is pulling their weight and we can’t wait to hit the road.”
“Legions Of Bastards” is scheduled for release in April via Century Media Records. The CD was previously described in a press release as “heavy” and “metal.” Nothing more, nothing less. Producer Pelle Saether of Studio Underground in Sweden has given the album a heavy and raw sound that these excellent new tracks deserve. Fans of WOLF’s previous efforts such as “Evil Star”, “The Black Flame” and “Ravenous” will not be disappointed, as the band kept true to its vision of what good ol’ in-your-face heavy metal is about. Official site: www.wolf.nu
After delivering a masterly lesson in heavy metal with 2009’s Ravenous, Sweden’s synonym for “heavy fucking metal”, WOLF, are now diligently working on the much anticipated follow-up.
The band comments: “Hi all! We’d like to announce that Wolf will be entering Studio Underground in Västerås, Sweden in November to record our follow up to the success of our Grammi nominated 2009 album, Ravenous. We will be working alongside producer Pelle Saether. We have been hard at work writing new songs and some songtitles are: ‘Fullmoon Possession’, ‘Skullcrusher’, ‘False Preacher’ and ‘Adrenaline Overdrive’. We feel fired up and ready to deliver a kick ass heavy metal album to you all in spring 2011. Tour plans for next year are also taking form and we know that we’re gonna hit more places than ever before. Festival season is also gonna be a blast as usual!
A fun note for our fans are also that Wolf is featured in the new book Mera Hårdrock with the album Ravenous as well as an interview regarding horror and music with guitarist Johannes Axeman. This book is written by tv/radio personalities Matthias Lindblad and Melker Becker and it’s their second book featuring heavy metal.
We’d also like to tell you about our performance at the Dean guitars UK meeting where we had the great honour to perform with SAXON guitarist Doug Scarret as guest. We played two Saxon songs and they can be viewed as fan filmed material.
