Two years after part three in the trilogy that marked the albums “Cobblestone Street”, “Museum” and “Nomad”, Mike Tramp Official is back with a brand new album entitled “Maybe Tomorrow”. The album is without doubt one of the Danish singer/songwriter’s finest albums so far, and the nature of the music is deeply personal and rooted in himself.
“When people ask me, why I have made a new album and what it’s about, I find myself dumbfounded or even lost for words. To me, what I do is who I am. It might have taken me quite a while to reach this place where I feel so at home, and also where I belong. A place where my music is simply an extension of who I am. It might not sound that interesting or mysterious! But in what other way can I express that my songwriting and music is the truthful life of Mike Tramp”.
“I don’t want to be anything else or try anything new. I am a torchbearer of my heroes and an offspring of my inspirations. I have not only moved away from the past, but I have grown and I have made my stand. When I listen to “Maybe Tomorrow”, I don’t just see myself, I now also see my faithful audience that have grown with me, and that is the best feeling of them all.”
Mike Tramp has recently finished another one of his massive US tours, and will be touring Europe extensively to support “Maybe Tomorrow” – he is without doubt still one of the most hard-working men in the rock’n’roll industry!
“Maybe Tomorrow” was recorded at Medley Studios, Copenhagen. Once again with his trusted partner Soren Andersen behind the knobs and on guitar.
This is now the 6th studio album in a row together with Soren Andersen.
Also similar to the “Nomad” album, the same band was used: Morten Hellborn – drums, Jesper Haugaard – bass. Morten Buchholtz – Hammond & piano.
No other people took part in creating and recording this album.
‘Maybe Tomorrow’ will be released worldwide on Mighty Music / Target Group on limited edition blue colour LP (500 copies), black LP, CD and Digital on February 24th 2017.

INTERVIEW AND LIVE PICTURES BY MARKO SYRJALA
Mike Tramp is a Danish singer and songwriter, best known for his work on a very successful 80’s hard rock band White Lion. Later Tramp founded the band Freak of Nature, which released three albums before breaking up in the late 90s. Since then, Tramp has been a solo artist and he has released eight albums, including the newest MUSEM, which was came out earlier this year. People change over the years, and Mike Tramp is not exception here. Hard rocker days are long gone and his last two albums have been totally acoustic, a grown man albums that draw their inspiration from the 60’s and 70’s, where it all began. Tramp made his solo debut in Finland last October. Before the show I sat down with Mike and we discussed a variety of topics such as Mike Tramp’s new musical direction, changes in life, the craziness of the 80’s and the future of Mike Tramp. Read on!

COBBLESTONE STREET is the name of the new Mike Tramp album which was released earlier this year. The album is very personal and because of that I thought it was time to have a talk with Mike Tramp. The album contains only Mike Tramp and an acoustic guitar which is a bit different from what Mr. Tramp usually delivers. If you’re curious about the album and on Mr. Tramp check out the interview. Brooklyn born James Lomenzo started his musician career in the late 70’s. His first bands included such names as Empty Sky, Clockwork and Rondinelli but it wasn’t until 1984 before he found big success after joining hard rock band White Lion. PRIDE was released in 1987 and with the help of hit singles “Wait” and “When Children Cry” it sold over two million copies in U.S alone. That band did huge tours opening for names like Aerosmith, Ozzy and AC/DC and they were on the top of their game. Ironically named BIG GAME came out two years later but although it failed to reach its predecessor sales, it still went to gold. The last White Lion album MAIN ATTRACTION was released in 1991 but its sales figures stayed proportionally low. James and drummer Greg D’Angelo left the soon to be disbanded group in 1991. James’s following years included touring with former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley and forming a brand new band called Pride and Glory together with Ozzy guitarist Zakk Wylde and drummer Brian Tichy. Unfortunately, that band didn’t last too long and they split up after just one album which was released in 1994. James and Brian Tichy continued working together and joined Slash’s Snakepit -touring in 1995. Few years later James joined David Lee Roth’s band and recorded the album DIAMOND DAVE with him. In 2004 Zakk Wylde asked James to join his Black Label Society and James agreed. HANGOVER MUSIC VOL 4 came out soon and although James briefly split again with Zakk, he soon returned and another album MAFIA came out in 2005. Later, on the same year, James decided to leave Black Label Society for the last time and try to find some new challenges. It wasn’t too long before it was announced that James was chosen as new bassist for legendary thrash metal band Megadeth. James played his first show with the band in March 2006 in Dubai. UNITED ABOMINATIONS was released in May of 2007 and since its release band has been more or a less constantly on tour across the world. Band started their European leg of the tour on last February from Helsinki and then we were able to sit down with James and talk about various topics including the current state of Megadeth, James’s work with some of his former bands as well as about many other interesting things…

Wow! This is the seventh time that the Finnish Metal-Rules squad made an invasion to the mighty Swedenrock festival. Almost 70 bands descended upon the southern area of Sweden for a festival that turned out to be an utter blast from the beginning to the end! The bill of Swedenrock festival 2007 covers a wide range of metal styles and even classic rock stuff such as Kreator to Black Oak Arkansas and everything between. Therefore, there was at least something for everyone who attended the festival. As usual, the whole festival was once again sold out with around 30,000 people at the area every day. The Swedenrock festival has always had tremendous luck with the weather every year. Once again the gods of weather had given their blessing for this rocking metallic heaven on the earth with an extreme hot and sunny weekend that burned red the skin of several festival goers.
As written in the first sentence, this is already the seventh time that the Swedenrock festival has been featured in the site of Metal-Rules.com, so it is quite logical for us to give an in-depth article of several bands performing at Swedenrock. However we are not able to cover every band, but hopefully you will have a pleasant reading moment… Enjoy !!!
