ANDY PARKER
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the classic UK rock band UFO. Still featured in the ranks are two founding members, vocalist (and the only constant in the bands event rich history) Phil Mogg and drummer Andy Parker. For the past few years the lineup has in addition consisted of two other members of the bands perhaps best loved (”Lights Out”) incarnation, namely bassist Pete Way and keyboardist Paul Raymond, with Vinnie Moore on guitar since 2005 who is filling the shoes of the mad axe man Michael Schenker. UFO’s newest record entitled THE VISITOR is their 20th studio album and the first one since 1988’s AIN’T MISBEHAVIN’ without the wild man Pete Way on board. Filling in on bass for the album is Peter Pichl, and on this summer’s tour, Barry Sparks. For this interview we sat down with Andy Parker to learn more, not just about Pete’s predicament, but many other things relating to the past, present and future of UFO.

DANNY VAUGHN
U.S born singer Danny Vaughn is best known for his work with his former bands Waysted and Tyketto. Today he is fronting a band which is simply called Danny Vaughn band. Danny released a new album called TRAVELLER last spring and lately he has done an acoustic tour as a support act for Journey in The U.K as well as some more touring with his band across the Europe. I managed to catch up with Danny last April when he was doing a "mini tour" in Finland together with Terry Brock. Here are the results of our discussion about the current tour, the past and many other interesting topics…

The legendary British band, UFO, first reaped moderate success with their space rock in the early 70′s. This was before they had introduced Michael Shenker into their ranks. They finally hit it big with their PHENOMENON (1974) album. Their fortunes continued to ascend with FORCE IT (1975), NO HEAVY PETTING (1976), LIGHTS OUT (1977) and OBSESSIONS (1978) albums and the accompanied tours that followed, before finally climaxing with the lauded double live album STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT (1979). As the 70s drew to a close, the story of UFO was far from over. Many incarnations, detours, and distractions later, UFO remain to this day a force to be reckoned with both live and, as their new album THE MONKEY PUZZLE (2006) proves, in the studio as well. We managed to catch Pete Way last month in Copenhagen prior to the UFO show in Pumpehuset and here are the results of our interesting discussion. In this interview, Pete recounts some highs and lows from his whole career, including Fastway, Ozzy Osbourne, Waysted, Damage Control and of course UFO.
