WARBRINGER Announce New Drummer

February 23rd, 2011

Despite practicing and writing together the last two months WARBRINGER today make it publically official that Carlos Cruz (Hexen) is their new drummer. The delay in announcement was out of respect to their old drummer and Carlos’ former band mates and there was no question about Carlos’ playing, songwriting or personality as the band ironically offered Carlos the spot in 2008.

“After years of putting forth nothing but blood, sweat, and tears into my tireless ambitions for playing music, I have finally found an outlet where no more time is wasted. It was flattering to have been approached by Warbringer the first time they made a personnel change in 2008, but this time around it couldn’t have felt more like perfect timing,” states Carlos. “They’re a collective group of humble, open-minded, down-to-earth guys who share the same fanaticism for music as I do and are the tightest musicians I have ever played with. I’ve never felt so welcomed and inspired to move forward. Even past members of the band have congratulated me and it feels very much like family, not just another band. From some recent serious downfalls in my personal life came this beautiful opportunity and I couldn’t be happier. We’ll be seeing all YOU Warbringers out on the road soon!”

Fans can see Carlos playing with the guys at his live debut in Mexico City on March 5th at the Eyescream Festival alongside Asesino, Anvil, Toxic Holocaust and Abigail Williams. WARBRINGER plan to record their third album in April with more live shows in May and June.

WARBRINGER Kick Off Three Nights With HALFORD; Issue Statement

December 18th, 2010

The mighty young thrashers WARBRINGER have had quite the wild ride since releasing their latest, wicked disc ‘Waking Into Nightmares’. Now, the band will kick off a three date trek supporting the iconic HALFORD. These dates serve as HALFORD’s follow up to his recent tour with OZZY OSBOURNE and also feature support from Dave Lombardo’s PHILM. After touring the world heavily all year, WARBRINGER are extremely excited to cap of 2010 with such a bang. John Laux had the following to say.

“Seasons Slayings and Greetings everyone!

“It’s been quite a turbulent sleigh ride since we released Waking Into Nightmares last year. We are very excited to wrap up the year with 3 killer Halford gigs in Southern California! Judas Priest has long been a staple of our late night tour van mp3 selection, so we are very excited and honored to share the stage with the the Metal God and Painkiller himself!

“These shows will also mark the end of 2 years of touring in support of the album. We had a great time visiting many countries and meeting a lot of great fans and bands. Some highlights include 3 great European/UK tours including Testament and co-headline runs with our friends in Evile and Skeletonwitch; an unforgettable time with Municipal Waste and Toxic Holocaust in Japan followed by a killer headlining tour in Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and The Philippines; and naturally lots of trips through the States and Canada kicking off right after the album was released with Soilwork, Darkane, Exodus, Kreator, Obituary, Megadeth, and some the heaviest and meanest this year with Overkill, Vader, Pestilence and finally supporting Nevermore; one tour we will never forget! Thanks to everyone!!

“Cheers and Humbugs,
-John Laux”

Warbringer – John Kevill

June 8th, 2009

Warbringer – John Kevill

Interviewed by Alan Gilkeson

Warbringer’s second full length album, WAKING INTO NIGHTMARES, pounces you with ten slick, heavy hitting, super riffing rageful songs. A modern Thrash record that harkens back to the genre’s heyday, yet makes it sound brand new. In spite of Gary Holt’s emphasis on guitars, and they do crush, the real star of the record is vocalist John Kevill. He’s ferocious and agressive and hits all the pockets. Here’s my interview with him.

WARBRINGER – Guitarist John Laux

September 6th, 2007

Warbringer Guitarist John Laux

Interview by Luxi Lahtinen

What was the hotbed for some of the most talented and successful Thrash Metal bands back in the ´80s? California, USA. What about these days? California, USA could be the right answer for that again if such new leagues of ferocious Thrash Metal acts as Merciless Death, Fueled by Fire, HeXeN, Dekapitator – amongst others, were anything to go by.

From California, USA, comes Warbringer, whose strong potential was also noticed by Century Media Records who recently signed the band. The band´s latest 5-song EP, titled ONE BY ONE THE WICKED FALL, is what everyone of us expects from old school Thrash Metal: Irresistibly powerful, catchier-than-your-grandma´s-ancient-sun-hat, menacing and aggressive in-yer-face Thrash Metal that is rooted deep in the ´80s era of Thrash Metal. What more could you possibly ask for?

I was contacted by the band´s wild 6-string torturer John Laux about telling what´s going on in the Warbringer camp these days, and John was kind enough to reveal about their deal with Century Media to how it happened indeed, local bands raising from their cellars into the fame (Merciless Death, Fueled by Fire, etc.) – and just about much more…
