VADER: IN-STUDIO VIDEO REPORT #1 AVAILABLE ONLINE

April 6th, 2011

Video footage of drum sessions with Paweł “Paul” Jaroszewicz, drummer for Poland’s extreme metal band VADER, is now available online here for viewing.  States Jaroszewicz:

“We started our session showing up in the studio on March 14th, at 9 p.m. after a few hours’ drive on our perfect Polish roads with a trailer full of gear – I really recommend it!  This day we only managed to do the load-in and hit the sack – as we were dead on our feet. The real session started the next day with setting up the drums, changing the skins, placing microphones and tuning the drums. Then… we were adjusting the sound looking for ‘this is it’ in each element of the set.  It lasted for the whole day and a half but it was definitely worth it.  The sound of the drums just kicks asses! For the next few days the schedule of work was practically the same – breakfast, setting the recording plan for the day, preparing a pilot for the drums, recording, monitoring plus corrections if needed, recording, supper and going to bed . . . For 7 days, we recorded 9 new songs, 2 covers and a re-make of veeeeeery old VADER track. The results of our work will be available probably in August. For now, look forward to the studio reports and the pictures from the further recording of WTTMR.

Quite recently I’ve also become the official endorser of Paiste’s cymbals. These are definitely the best sounding cymbals on the market and they were my wildest dream since I started to play the drums. I’m proud that now I can join the Paiste family. Of course you will hear them on the newest VADER album.”

VADER entered Hertz Studio in Bialystok, Poland with Wojtek Wiesławski and are recording their new album, Welcome To The Morbid Reich. As previously stated by VADER mainman Peter W., draft titles of a few tracks include: “Lords of Thorns,” “I Am Who Feast Upon Your Souls,” “Only Hell Knows,” “Return to the Morbid Reich,”and “I Had A Dream.”  Fans attending VADER concerts and summer festivals will have a chance to listen to one or two new tracks from the new album.  Additionally, the band is resurrecting the use of their old logo.

POLAND’S VADER ANNOUNCE THEIR RETURN TO THE STUDIO & OLD LOGO

January 15th, 2011

Poland’s extreme metal band VADER has announced the following via the band’s official website:

“The band is about to prepare for recording of their newest studio album Welcome To The Morbid Reich.  Recording will take place in Hertz Studio again (Bialystok – Polska) from March 15th to April 10th, 2011.  Mix[ing] and mastering in May, 2011.  As Peter W. has announced, he plans to record 10-11 tracks plus 2 bonuses for special editions of the album. As usual, you will have a chance to track the process of recording the album in a special studio report on the band’s website.  The new album will be followed by a new photo session and a video clip.  The band will make the decision on whom to work with at the end of March.

“Draft titles of a few tracks: ‘Lords of Thorns,’ ‘I Am Who Feast Upon Your Souls,’ ‘Only Hell Knows,’ ‘Return to the Morbid Reich,’ and ‘I Had A Dream.’  Fans will have a chance to listen to 1 or 2 new tracks at VADER concerts and summer festivals.  This year’s Blitzkrieg will start a bit later, probably in October and VADER will play a completely new set!”

Guitarist, vocalist, and founding member Peter W. also stated in today’s post:

“For a long time I’ve been thinking about new tracks and the album concept; more and more things start to be clear.  For the most part, I’d like Spider (Marek Pajak – guitars) to take part in the process of album creation.  I also have in mind – relating to the good old times – a new layout for the album.  I met with Zbyszek Bielak, a very talented artist, who will design the new layout, merchandise and scenic elements.  Zbyszek has already worked with such bands as Watain, Absu, Behemoth.  The new album will mainly focus on the Morbid Reich feeling combined with brutal riffs and tempo of the previous albums.  We also have a surprise for our devoted fans: We’re going to come back to our old logo.’”

VADER’s 2009 album, Necropolis, debuted at #19 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart the week after its release.  It was recorded at Hertz Studios in Bialystok, Poland with the Wieslawski Bros., mixed by Tue Madsen (Halford, Kataklysm, Behemoth) at Antfarm Studios in Denmark, and featured cover artwork by Jacek Wisniewski.

VADER – Piotr “Peter” Wiwczarek

December 31st, 2008

VaderLogo.jpg

 Piotr "Peter" Wiwczarek of VADER

Interview and live pics by Arto Lehtinen and Luxi Lahtinen

Transcription by David Groves (thanks mate!)

Vader, the legendary death metal force from Poland, have made quite a career for themselves with many successful albums and tours. Vader has also underwent some radical line-up changes over the years. Despite these line-up changes, the band’s mastermind Piotr "Peter" Wiwczarek has managed to remain loyal to the original roots of Vader, navigating the band successfully from the stormy waters to calmer and flavorable harbors since the mid 80’s.

We met Peter about 2 hours before the showtime and had this great opportunity to make a long and in-depth interview with Peter regarding the recent comp. album XXV, talk about these line-up changes of the band – amongst many other things as well. The interview was conducted on October 21st 2008 when Vader were terrorizering the Finnish territories together with Grave and Zonaria.

Party San Metal Open Air – Bad Berka Germany

September 1st, 2007

Party San Metal Open Air
09-11-08 2007 Bad Berka Germany

Article and pics by Arto Lehtinen

After big and massive festivals it is more than a welcome choice to pick up the map and travel to other festivals to check out what they have to offer. As all of our readers are supposed to know, Germany is one hell of a paradise for metal maniacs to spend every weekend in metal festivals somewhere in the country. For example Party San located in the middle of the heart of Germany is another good example of what a smaller festival can offer. Party San is such an interesting event as none of bands from the flourishing power metal genre were booked since all the bands on the bill were nothing but extreme ones. Especially, the return of the Dutch death metal legends Asphyx with Martin Van Drunen on the mic was a damn tempting reason to go to Party San.

Unfortunately the gods of weather weren’t thrilled about the blasphemic nihilistic death/black bands. The whole weekend was utterly wet and rainy and of course the camping field became a real battlefield with several muddy and wet tents. However these minor weather conditions didn’t prevent 10000 extreme metal maniacs from enjoying the utter blasting brutality.

In this article I am not going to that deeply analyze each band at the festival. Instead the article’s purpose is to give an impression of this extreme metal festival in case some of our readers want an idea of the feel and taste of a brutal offering a week after Wacken.

Tuska Open Air 2007 – Helsinki, Finland

August 13th, 2007

Tuska Open Air Metal Festival

The 29th of June ? The 1st of July 2007

The Central Park of Kaisaniemi

Helsinki Finland

Review and pics by Luxi Lahtinen and Arto Lehtinen

(additional comments by Mika Hankaniemi)

Once again the prestigious Tuska open air metal festival is here. Thousands of metalheads have travelled from all around Finland and other countries to the central park of Kaisaniemi in order to celebrate the real metal inferno in the middle of Helsinki. This year the Tuska metal festival celebrates its tenth anniversary and of course the offering of the line-up of bands is as colorful as in the previous events.

Getting the mighty Norwegian black metal legends like Emperor and Immortal have been the most awaited ones amongst the audience for sure. However although these so-called big black metal legends definitely attract more of the extreme metal fans, the festival is not limited to one certain metal category. Everyone has something to feel and see and taste during these three days. Above all, power metal had a strong line up – for example Blind Guardian and Stratovarius, being the most known names in Tuska?s bill in 2007.

The festival has become a real guaranteed pure metal festival and has had massive popularity amongst all kinds of metalheads of all ages. The majority of the tickets were already sold out quickly in the advance sales a long time ago. However there were some leftovers if someone was willing to buy, and taste a feeling of metal after all.

Metal-Rules.com was again at Tuska to give an exact review and article on bands. Therefore sit down and enjoy your reading.

Vader, NightRage, BloodThorn – Helsinki, Finland November 2006

January 8th, 2007

Vader
BloodThorn & Nightrage
The 24th of November 2006
NightLife Rock, Helsinki, Finland

The coverage of obscure underground death metal gigs continues in Metal-Rules.com. Previous reviews have covered gigs of both Grave and Dismember when these bands played in obscure places in front of small, but enthusiastic audiences on their small tour thru Finland.

Vader had toured in Finland a couple of years ago gaining a solid and strong reputation as being a tight and merciless live act on stage. The band had guaranteed to deliver a lesson in the purest death metal mayhem for several extreme metal maniacs on their last tour. Therefore Vader’s return to the soil of Finland was definitely welcomed.
