At the start of 2012 Peter Dolving left The Haunted for a second time, now near the end of that same year he is preparing to release his new solo album Thieves And Liars. In fact the split seems to have opened up a whole new creative well for Peter, and one where we’re keen to see what each bucket drawn will yield. Touching on The Haunted, but focusing on his creative process and the new material, one thing you can be sure of in Peter’s chat with Metal-Rules.com is his unflinching honesty…
It’s with deep regret we have to inform you of another two departures from The Haunted; guitarist Anders Björler and drummer Per Möller Jensen. No animosity whatsoever caused these events, nor are there any other feelings than that they will both be dearly missed. We wish them all the best in whatever, and wherever, their future endeavors will take them.
For all you who have any knowledge about the band, and know how to count, you will realize that there are only two band members left; Jonas and myself. We are still committed to the The Haunted. However, in the light of these recent events, we honestly don’t know what will happen. We hope for your appreciation of our current situation, and for your patience.
“I feel that I have come to the end of the line regarding THE HAUNTED. This is not a sudden or hasty decision. I have been contemplating it for the last couple of years. Peter’s departure earlier this year made me more certain than ever that I had reached my personal goal with THE HAUNTED, and that the time was right to call it quits.
I have enjoyed every bit of the ride. It’s been an overwhelming journey. I would like to thank the other band members especially, our crew through the years, and our fans worldwide for the experience and opportunity. Thank you so much! The memories will be with me forever.
I will of course continue writing music, but where that leads me?,simply too early to say.”
Anders
Words from Per:
“It’s been a good 13-year stint. All in all, I have no regrets.
My penchant for music, creating — as in digging deep — and practicing has never been at a higher peak than now. When you throw musical differences between members in with that, I started feeling unfulfilled. This is not pointing fingers at anybody, but rather just seeing, accepting and acting on that fact.
Thank you to everybody who has supported us over the years. I have countless memories from shows all over the world. I will cherish all that for the rest of my days, regardless. Thank you!
This is my station right here, this is where I choose to get off the train and pursue new challenges.
There will be new music shortly, some already written and recorded. News on this will follow at a later date.
I wish all the best to Jonas [Björler, bass], [Patrik] Jensen [guitar], Anders [Björler, guitar] and Peter.“
Peter has decided to leave The Haunted permanently. We don’t have any more news or info for you regarding this at the moment, but stay tuned for future updates…
We just wanted to put and end to all the rumors out there.
Sweden’s THE HAUNTED continues to promote their newest album release Unseen , which hit the charts at #5 in Sweden as well as #26 in Finland upon release. After an Australian tour and a busy Summer schedule which saw the band appear at major European open air festival events like Sweden Rock (Sweden), Hellfest (France), Wacken (Germany) and Summer Breeze (Germany), THE HAUNTED has most recently announced a run of dates in Sweden with ENTOMBED as part of the 2011 edition of the “Close-Up Made Us Do It” tour, a couple of headlining shows in Greece, as well as a (re-scheduled) tour of Japan together with Norwegian acts IHSAHN and LEPROUS.

Now, THE HAUNTED is happy to launch the first promotional video clip for the Unseen album. The song “No Ghost” (in a special live rendition from Wacken Open Air festival 2011) can be viewed online here:
This intense live version of “No Ghost” was filmed at Germany’s famous Wacken Open Air Festival 2011 by Marcel Schleiff / Record Film and edited by Anders Björler / At The Gates Production. The live sound recording was engineered by Jacky Lehmann / Audiosound Lehmann and then mixed by the band’s longterm producer Tue Madsen at Antfarm Studio in Denmark.
For gamers, the song “No Ghost” had already been made available earlier this year on the RockBand network. Check out more here:http://www.rockband.com/songs/UGC_5006261

“A little update from THE HAUNTED camp: We are proud to share the following live video for ‘No Ghost’ which was filmed this summer at Wacken Open Air. The Wacken crew did a great job filming and Tue Madsen did exceptional work mixing this time around.
We are currently preparing for some club shows in Greece, in Sweden with ENTOMBED, as well as a tour of Japan & China. China will be a first for us and we are very excited about this. We are also looking at some more touring next year, but more info about that soon. ‘Til then, keep checking our website & facebook for updates and news.”

THE HAUNTED are back with their follow-up to 2008′s ‘Versus’ and it’s bigger and more exciting than they’ve ever been! ‘Unseen’ sees a band who is unwilling to remain still and continues to push the boundaries of their sound and growth. REVOLVER Magazine recently gave ‘Unseen’ a four star review saying, “‘Unseen’ is daring and varied in its scope and execution, each track markedly different in genre and approach from the last, but never losing the distinctive HAUNTED touch.”
‘Unseen’ will be released upon the masses in North America tomorrow, but THE HAUNTED have released one more trailer for fans to check out before they get to hear this beastly slab of Swedish metal.
In the light of the upcoming release date for THE HAUNTED’s much anticipated new studio album “Unseen” on March 22nd in North America, the album’s catchy title track has been launched online for you to check out via the band’s official Facebook account: http://www.facebook.com/hauntedofficial.

The Haunted will share the stage of the best Metal Festival in Southern Italy with already confirmed PRIMAL FEAR and a few more brilliant metal bands next 25th september at the Demodè Club in the city of Bari.
The Haunted are one of the most worldwide popular Swedish metal bands. Their sound is influenced by many metal styles. The TMF performance will be their first show ever in southern Italy!
Some more bands have been confirmed too for the italian Festival:Methedras, which already played the TMF2008, Sawthis, powerful death/thrash italian metal band, The Prowlers, Classic Metal with power and prog influences and Insidexile, a very young experimental extreme metal band from southern Italy. More bands will be confirmed soon!
Once again tens of thousands of lunatic metal freaks travelled from all over the world to the small German village located in the middle of the beautiful northern German countryside. The small peaceful Wacken literally goes upside down when nearly 80.000 conquer the village during one weekend in a year. Wacken Open Air celebrated its 19th birthday from the 31st of July to the 2nd of August, whose biggest headliner ever in the history of Wacken was Iron Maiden. Despite Iron Maiden being the biggest name on the bill, however there were tons of other interesting and fascinating names.
Brat: The mass convergence of catholic youth in Sydney for World Youth Day the week Ray and I left brought a smile to my face and a feeling of warmth as I realised it wouldn’t be long until I was part of a similar pilgrimage but to Hamburg Germany and with two major differences—where Sydney was awash with colourful youth, Hamburg would be invaded by a swarm of black; and the trolley suitcases carrying clothing would instead be trolleys full of beer; songs of the gospel would be replaced by metal anthems. They came to worship at the cross—we to worship at the flaming longhorn but we all would display our nations’ flags proudly.
Tickets for W:O:A 2008 sold phenomenally fast. The special edition X-mas pack with extra goodie bag sold out before I could take a long breath after my 2007 trip. By February the official festival ticket seller was “SOLD OUT”. Suddenly the ebay market was flooded with tickets with one ticket reaching a record price of 800 British Pounds—obscene. Even in July with less than 1 month before the festival, there was an average of 5 new listings a day for tickets, which nullified all “SOLD OUT” credibility. (Brat)
