Vocalist Vincent Bennett commented: “Warped tour is a notch in the belt of The Acacia Strain that we have been waiting to add to our ‘did it!’ list for a long time. We are proud to finally be able to join the ranks of warped tour alumni. Although music has changed over the years, we won’t forget our roots. See you this summer!”
In the meantime, THE ACACIA STRAIN will be on tour with WHITE CHAPEL and VEIL OF MAYA for the WELCOME TO HELL TOUR across the US and Canada in February into March and on the European leg of the WELCOME TO HELL TOUR with WHITE CHAPEL and IMPENDING DOOM in April.

“Wormwood” was recorded at Planet Z Studios in Hadley, MA with Zeuss (Hatebreed, Chimaira, Shadows Fall) handling producing, mixing and mastering. The cover art was one by acclaimed artist, Justin Kamerer, who has done previous work for Bleeding Through, Guns N Roses, Slayer and many more. The band chronicled the sessions through a series of video blogs which can be viewed at www.prostheticrecords.com.
Front man Vincent Bennett commented; “We worked just as hard if not harder on this album as we did on (2008’s)“Continent.’ We took an entire block of time off of touring and our lives in general to focus 100% on the creation of ‘Wormwood.’ Where we normally write a record with a theme already attached to it; this time around we wrote a record and the theme developed as we went. We wanted to do something that was still Acacia Strain, but broke away from the ‘mold’ that has been struck by all the bands these days that we seem to get grouped in with. All the songs have their own dynamic, instead of writing an album filled with like sounding songs. This is the heaviest record WE have ever written and these are the most personal lyrics I have ever written. Justin Kamerer; who did the artwork for the album, was really great to work with and really brought the songs to life with his imagery. I am really excited for this release, and we are all very proud of what we did with this record. I hope you enjoy.”

THE ACACIA STRAIN’sfirst DVD, “The Most Known Unknown,” released February 16, debuted at #10 on Billboard’s Top Music Video Sales Chart and 2008’s album, “Continent,” debuted at number 2 on Billboard’s “Heatseekers” Chart. The band won the “Myspace Readers’ Choice Award” at 2009’s GOLDEN GODS awards.
THE ACACIA STRAIN have revealed the title, cover art and track listing which will be released July 20th in North American and August 2nd in Europe. The album is titled “Wormwood,” and features cover art by acclaimed artist, Justin Kamerer, who has done previous work for Bleeding Through, Guns N Roses, Slayer and many more.
Check out a video of front man Vincent Bennett announcing the title and cover, as well as the previous “Guess The Album Title” contest, HERE. Bennett also commented on the album:
“We worked just as hard if not harder on this album as we did on (2008’s)“Continent.’ We took an entire block of time off of touring and our lives in general to focus 100% on the creation of wormwood. Where we normally write a record with a theme already attached to it; this time around we wrote a record and the theme developed as we went. we wanted to do something that was still acacia strain, but broke away from the ‘mold’ that has been struck by all the bands these days that we seem to get grouped in with. all the songs have their own dynamic, instead of writing an album filled with like sounding songs.
The track listing of “Wordwood,” is as follows:
Beast
The Hills Have Eyes
BTM FDR
Ramirez
Terminated
Nightman
The Impaler
Jonestown
Bay Of Pigs
The Carpathian
Unabomber
Tactical Nuke
THE ACACIA STRAIN played will be participating in “Cool Tour” in July/August with As I Lay Dying, Underoath, Between the Buried And Me, Blessthefall, Architects, Cancer Bats and War of Ages. They’ll also be in Europe in September and October on the “Hell On Earth Tour” with Terror and more.
